Mozart's playground used to have a pool and a playground area. Then in the late 70's/early 80's, they tore down the pool and made a new tennis court area, basketball court & refurbished the playground area. It was used by many children daily. Then they let it get so rundown, the whole park became unsafe & unusable. So they tore down the tennis courts, took out some of the old playground rides and made a grassy area, wasting all that $ from years of neglect. Now, you hardly ever see any kids play there like in the 70's -90's & they still want to hold onto a small area that's not even being used. I say give it to the Mozart VFD for nothing. What could it hurt if nobody is using it anyway?

Sure. There is no other parcel in Mozart to trade for that piece of land. And why would we want to do such a frivolous thing as to make it easier to train people to save lives? The city has an excellent training program. If this sale cannot be done, why couldn't a grant be obtained to provide funds to the city fire department to conduct the training locally, instead of asking people to go to the southern part of the state to do it? Think, folks!
