The feferal gov needs to butt out of states' business entirely. NCLB got shoved down our throats and it is about time we said no to excessive federal regulations. In Texas they tested 7th graders, but held back the less academically able kids or skipped them to the 8th grade, just to prove that their academic model was superior. HAH.

Its fascinating to me that teacher unions and education liberals always blame Bush for the No Child Left Behind regulatoins that force schools to warehouse thugs and gang bangers in school system and teach to the bottom of the class instead of the top or middle. When Obama ran the first time he mentioned that he would do away with NCLB of the "Bush Administration" and libs and unions cheered. And yet it was not a Bush program at all, it was a law introduced and pushed through Congress by Ted Kennedy. Bush just signed it into law as Presidents do all the time, he had no choice or input, it was a totally Dem Congress that passed it and saddled us with that turkey for a decade. So here we see a Dem Gov along with unions getting a waiver to get around the Democratic/Ted Kennedy education program. Still blaming Bush..but it was Dem liberals doing the DC dance at the time. Obama's education program is essentially just funneling hinterland tax money to the inner city schools f

This is going to be bad. While I do not believe NCLB was a great plan, can you imagine what our State Department of Education will come up with? What a sham this will be!
