Gilbert and Lewicki's kids graduated. They will probably follow the exit routes of other parents on the Board and not run again.

The new Cameron High School will never be finished. The lawsuits will drag on for years. We will be left to pay for these lawsuits while people like Renzella and Simms will be enjoying their big money pensions that we too provide. If we ever approve another levy of any type in this county then we deserve what we get which is poor management, excessive spending and a group of 5 people who feel even though they are elected by the people they can ignore them at every turn until three months before a levy election or a their own election.

WHY SHOULD ANYONE ATTEND THE MEETING, THEY VOTE ON THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL ITEMS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS WITHOUT THE INPUT FROM THE FLOOR.

What is with this paper and all the school bashing? Hate to break it to all of you, but you OWE public education professionals the money you pay in taxes. They educate your kids, and feed and take care of them for most of the day. Those of you who don’t have kids in a school district still OWE public education employees the money you pay because they are educating future generations in your community and keeping them off the streets. If the cost was to be broken down to the individual taxpayer, this time-intensive service is provided for a minimal fee. Time to realize you live in a community, not by yourself on a desert island!

Travenger, $55,000,000 budget for MC Schools and according to the US Census 8,150 of the 32,000 population in MC work! Do the math and tell us about that "deal" tax payers are getting!

tav,you have got to be kidding.school boards have been tossing money the wrong direction for at least the last 20 years.30 years ago the schools were run much more efficiently.they fixed stuff instead of replacing with new.the state pays these counties to run the schools.levies are just for extras[nothing to do with kids].55 mil will buy a lot of new cars for the poor administrators that can't afford their own.

Tavenger, it's good to see someone from the "other" side respond to the comments on this page, ( I was beginning to think they either couldn't read and/or write)but you have no chance of winning an argument with this group.(ask Eric James) The math just isn't on your side plus many of us still live in Marshall or Ohio County and see the results of the kids this system puts out there.

I don't "owe" you anything. Your child is YOUR responsibility, not mine.

Your child's safety, well-being, health care, education, food, transportation, clothing, religion and discipline are YOUR responsibility, not mine.

Education spending has increased exponentially since 1960. Do you really want to argue that today's high school graduates are exponentially smarter and better prepared than 1960 graduates?

Tavenger's remarks are nails for the education coffin, with talk of people owing teachers and the schools. People did not owe the positive vote in the last levy, they did that voluntarily in the best spirit of cooperation. And then the Board and their Master unveiled a knife in the back that they assume will be forgotten by the time the next levy comes around. I don't think it will. There will always be some elitist like Tavenger to tell us that we are slaves and owe him a living. If we OWE why are the schools in Ohio struggling becasue the people stopped voting for levies? Don't they OWE too? The schools are paid for by those who own homes, not drillers, not renters, not teachers from out of county, its a very small part of the county, yet all get to vote. The BOE has become the center of greed and corruption with a let them eat cake attitude toward the voters. We still get to vote, why is that? Next levy DOA already. Tavenger will see to that. Enjoy your 3 months off, teach?
