Marcellus is correct. This was all capehart making a deal for money. The "seasoned" researchers certainly did not approve of, or have any input into this because they found out when the press release came out. And how free of bias will any research be when it is funded by ecology destroying Industries? I am guessing the research will show that mountain top removal actually benefits ecology, most notably a species of soul sucking leach. West liberty is a great school, but this was a sellout move by capehart.

Let's face it, the university sold out to the drillers when they leased their land, now they are just hoping for further 'bucks' to promote the drilling agenda and keep the money flowing into their pockets. ALL IN!!! Drill baby drill. Export baby export. This is NOT about American energy independence, it is about MONEY and PROFIT, selling to the highest bidder anywhere in the world, even if they don't wear the right stripes. Great economic lesson for the business majors, not so much for the political science majors, but skip the rhetoric, MONEY TALKS!!!

5-6 years ago all the local "education" mills were educating all the future coal miners! How has that worked out?

Ditto what they said.

Lots of arm waving, NO job creation.

Redistribution of wealth from taxpayers to education.
