Hoopie, you may have missed this from Forbes:

Last week, the state of California claimed that its version of Obamacare’s health insurance exchange would actually reduce premiums. “These rates are way below the worst-case gloom-and-doom scenarios we have heard,” boasted Peter Lee, executive director of the California exchange.

But the data that Lee released tells a different story: Obamacare, in fact, will increase individual-market premiums in Californis by as much as 146%.

if there were no ask and you recieve social programs, people wouldn't try so hard to stay below the poverty line where free wealth is dolled out.

Cont'd

We not only don’t have the money in the bank, no one has a serious plan to put it there.

Now — some really bad news. The actual liability is almost twice what the government is reporting. In 2009, the trustees calculated the two programs’ unfunded liability at about 6.5 times the size of the U.S. economy. But the next year the unfunded liability was cut in half.

The reason: “Obamacare.” The minute President Barack Obama signed his health reform bill, he cut Medicare’s unfunded liability by more than $50 trillion.

EPIC FAIL!

Oldman the TRUSTEES are NON PARTISAN INDEPENDENTS who RUN the SOCIAL SECURITY FUND

Politico 4/25/12

Here’s some bad news: The latest report of the Social Security and Medicare trustees shows an unfunded liability for both programs of $63 trillion. That is equal to about 4.5 times the entire U.S. gross domestic product.

The unfunded liability is the amount we have promised in benefits, looking indefinitely into the future, minus the payroll taxes and premiums we expect to collect. It’s the amount we must have in the bank today, earning interest, for these entitlement programs to be solvent.

Over 72,600,000 Americans were enrolled in Medicaid in 2012. Medicaid was created in 1965 to provide health coverage to low-income Americans, sorta like obamacare! lol

Since obama took office in 2009, the number of Americans on Medicaid has increased 23% or by 13,800,000.

So, obama was talking to THESE people when he said, "If you like your plan, you can keep it". What's not to like, it's free and I'm paying for it!

Social Security is the biggest financial disaster in the History of Man.

Unfunded liabilities are estimated at a LOW of about $40 TRILLION!!! That is almost THREE times the entire national GDP.

Oldman if you are example of the healthcare under SS, then it is massive FAIL because you are brain dead!

oldman, LBJ raided the Social Security trust fund in 1969 to pay for Vietnam and it’s been a doomed Ponzi scam ever since. One liberal decapitating another liberal’s unconstitutional Ponzi scam retirement program for seniors to fund an unnecessary liberal-started war. Typical.

But Bush? But Reagan? yawn...

We (middle class) might be lucky to have any affordable insurance by 2016!

You can't really compare the "new" insurance program to the Social Security program. The insurance will be money given to the private insurance companies....Is that not what conservatives want? Privatize!!!

Now. Why would I get kicked off my bare bones plan? Being self employed and mostly healthy, a non smoker. And gee I have just had a 40% increase in the premium just last month. Was told because of new insurance laws. Obama care. Really. No wonder the insurance co. likes Obama. I'm expecting another large increase in 2014. I doubt the insurance co will cancel me when they can just raise the costs to where I drop them. Nancy was correct. They voted for it to find out what's in it. And we will suffer when we find out what they voted for. Great system for the union of congress and big business isn't it. It's called Fascism by definition. Merger of state and corp. power.
