Sen Kirk (R-ILL) "Mr. Attorney General, I want to take you to the Verizon scandal and -- which I understand takes us to possibly monitoring up to 120 million calls. You know, when government bureaucrats are sloppy, they're usually really sloppy. Want to just ask, could you assure to us that no phone inside the Capitol were monitored of members of Congress that would give a future executive branch, if they started pulling this kind of thing off, would give them unique leverage over the legislature?

The elite are only worried about themselves.....

daTRUTH:

"May 27, 2011

"“Americans would be alarmed if they knew how this law is being carried out,” added Senator Mark Udall of Colorado, also on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Following the 250-153 evening vote in the house, the legislation to renew three terrorism-fighting authorities headed for the president’s signature with only hours to go before they were set to expire.

Congress bumped up against the deadline mainly because of the stubborn resistance from a single senator, Republican freshman Rand Paul, who saw the act’s terrorist-hunting powers as an abuse of privacy rights.

Paul held up the final vote for several days while he demanded a chance to change the bill to diminish the government’s ability to monitor individual actions. The bill passed the Senate 72-23. "

Udall certainly NAILED it because he was on the Intelligence Committee and KNEW what was going down back then!

Non political academics will tell you that fascism and dictators always come from the political left. Hitler, Stalin, Chave, Castro, Mussolini all started out as leftists but once in power could not resist the use of power to crush dissent and to create laws in secret (Executive Orders) that they knew could not pass public scrutiny. And then the secret police, the collection of informatoin on everyone. The Patriot Act, passed by a bipartisan Congress in the wake of 9/11 is now used to collect info on ordinary citizens. Drones to watch us, th IRS to punish us, the media to spout the gov line 24/7. Obama no longer has the public trust and a democracy cannot run without trust. We cannot surrender rights/privacy to a gov that we do not trust. You would have to be a brain dead poli cultist to trust Obama and nonstop lying Administration. IRS/NSA/wiretaping the press, drones overhead, Benghazi, stonewalling Congress, on and on. This is so much worse than Nixon was. And we shed him.

The facts are, obama could have left key parts of the Patriot Act to expire back in 2009, but he didn't, although he campaigned against it in 2008. Not only did he signed the extension to extend the key parts that would have expired, he expanded the Patriot Act.

Now there's a wonderwhy!

oh, where is wonderwhy?

re Gooseman: 'Ive not even read 3 posts and board conversation sinks to a duuuhRAT "Can you hear me now?" and Ragnars? rant?'

Government intercepts show duuuhRAT = Ragnar.

Another benefit is he can 'Agree' with himself in each name. He likely works for some rightist looney lobby that pays him 4 cents for each posting denouncing Democrats. Only way to survive is to post 24/7/365 in multiple screen names.
