Very nice that the Wheeling Jamboree was noted in this commentary. However it was not in the 60's that the show originated but it was in 1933 when it was launched.

I assume the folks below must have been on this list?? Warwood's own Chuck Howley who played for WVU and was first and only Super Bowl MVP while on THE LOSING TEAM?

Or actor Tom Myler also from Warwood and WVU grad who played on Sex & The City not long ago?

Or actor David Selby who went to WVU and is the plays Lincoln at Ford's Theater?

Or Joyce DeWitt (Three's Company) born in Wheeling?

Or Joann Dru born in Logan WV, but grew up in Wheeling and was a major actress in the 1950's?

Or Hawkshaw Hawkins, a Grand Ol' Opry star?

Or Ira 'Rat' Rodgers, WVU all-American football player in 1919 and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Or NASA Astronaut Jon McBride?

Or, for God's Sake... Pearl Buck, first woman author to win the Nobel Prize for Literature?

Or Walter Reuther, UAW President who was born and grew up in Wheeling?

Or Earl W. Oglebay who gave us his land for a park that sustains Wheeling for recreation and jobs.

Neither Lady Gaga or Charles Manson were born in WV. Shouldn't the guy who's the LOGO for the NBA be mentioned? Pretty sure the trademark is known thruout the world. Possibly moreso than any other sports logo next to NIKE.
