I think it's a good move. The B&O tax has really hurt Wheeling and there is no personal city income tax in Wheeling. This alone makes Wheeling an attractive place to live but the B&O tax makes it a place you do not want to set up your small business.

Anyone know where I can get a map that shows the city boundary line? Because I'll be checking that map when I shop from now on.

Sorry, retailers, but when the city council decided to pick on retailers over businesses that don't have retail sales, I didn't vote for that.

"The public will have one last chance to weigh in on Wheeling's proposed 0.5-percent sales tax," give me a break. The council will do what the city manager and mayor tell them to do, the people de darned. If Jesus Christ showed up to protest his comments would be ignored.

I'd say tax done deal. Now what I question is we have a water department repair team so why pay an outside outfit to repair valves that if they broke our employees would repair normaly? Waste of money right and left from OVERPAID so called leaders. Cry they can NOT pay the bills but new seats, etc. No new income just new taxpayer bills. Oh and what side is mayor on? Just lip service as long as they get their unearned pay. While I am at it what is happening about all the pit bulls? NOT ONE THING business as usual. Light fades away and nothing done time after time after

I agree there is too many meters in the city, but only when central whines, do they consider removing any. They should use the meter fees and ticket costs and put that towards the practice field.

And you gotta love a city that is so focused on finance after giving the city manager a 15% RAISE two years after a 10 % RAISE!!

It's like a poor family without food to feed their kids buying an hd tv or expensive sneakers.

Alph- What you mentioned is now happening. It's nor only stereos. I see sign after sign for help wanted. Granted, they are mostly low paying jobs, but they are JOBS. Of course, counting your ubemployment, food stamps, welfare, free meals, freebaby sitting etc. All added up the job payes less. So why work??? Thats who votes for Obama.
