This is one of those rich guy rant stories that we have come to like in the Obama age. So what is the point of the story? He owns a lot of businesses? Does he own them or is he the controlling stockholder? So let me understand in the new Obama age, if your business is tanking, and the coal industry is, then you are supposed to use your personal resources to pay the business bills? So yeah he is a fat rich guy who owns many businesses and really we are supposed to just hate him for that. Do the profits from the Greenbrier have to be used to pay for his coal mining debts in KY? I hope not. They are corporations not Scrooge McDucks' basement and law applies. So the story is just tapping into the new rich guy rant hate thing that was made popular by other rich guys like John Kerry, Obama, Kennedys, etc. The rich guys who tell us which rich guys to hate and not them. Bogus story written to make us bark like dogs.

Isn't it interesting: we elect representatives to write the laws, and when someone with more intelligence uses the laws to make money we get angry at them for being successful.

Shouldn't you vent your hostility toward those writing the laws, instead of those using them successfully?

Bet he wasn't late on political contribution. Oh and if you can not pay the bills you close. But not till you raided whatever workers were due. Need that money more than the workers do.Forgot one thing if you didn't make the money you expected it is not a loss but it would sound better saying it is a loss. No one would let me be that lax on bills due. Nor would I want them to be. On the political end I don't care what side he is on he would back up pay to politicos.
