More Crony Capitalism:

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) have inserted a provision that amounts to little more than a handout to Las Vegas casinos into the repackaged immigration reform bill, Breitbart News has learned. This provision, a brazen example of crony capitalism, was inserted into the immigration law enforcement section of the bill despite the fact that it has nothing whatsoever to do with "immigration" or "law enforcement."

The Travel Promotion Act (TPA) of 2009 allows the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury to spend up to $100 million on promoting travel to specific areas of the country. If the provision Reid and Heller inserted into the proposed immigration reform legislation becomes law, the benefits of the TPA would be extended indefinitely. "

"While you decry the food stamps for needy Americans you are all for billion dollar subsidies for farms, oil, banking, drilling, and just about every other corporation with their hands out."

From the New American, "Corporate Welfare Spending Hits $100 Billion in FY 2012"

Hoopie, don't we have a Dem controlled Congress and a Dem President???

Conservatives aren't in charge yet corporate welfare is on a record pace!!!

Table 2. Funding for Older Americans Act, Title III: FY2011, FY2012, and FY2013 Budget Request and Continuing Resolution

($ in millions)

Home-delivered meals $217.24 FY2011

Home-delivered meals $216.83 FY2013

Obama signed the continuing resolution that contain these budget numbers.

Why is Obama giving Wall Street $85 billion a month and reducing Meals on Wheels for old people?

I thought serious Liberals were for helping struggling Americans not corporate welfare!!

More from the same report! In FY2008 under Bush the OAA budget was $1.924 billion. Obama's FY2013 budget request is for $1.907 billion. There are more old people than in 2008! Why is Obama spending less on them?

"let's look at the seniors getting meals on wheels"

Okay! From Forbes, " Obama would cut or freeze spending on many key programs for seniors. For instance, he’d freeze funding for Meals on Wheels and other nutrition programs, as he has through most of his Administration. Same story with aging network services and family caregiver support."

From the Washington Post, "Under the administration’s budgets, in fact, funding for senior meals has been flat since 2010, generally resulting in fewer meals."

From the report Funding for the Older Americans Act and Other Aging Services Programs (Congressional Research Service), "FY2012 funding for OAA programs totals $1.913 billion, 1% less than in FY2011. The President’s FY2013 budget request proposes $1.907 billion for OAA programs, 0.3% less than the FY2012 level."

OAA is the Older Americans Act that funds Meals on Wheels!!

You tell 'em Hoopie!! Obama would never do that!!

Just ask the Huffington Post! "Barack Obama: King Of Corporate Welfare" "No matter what else he achieves or where he falls short, Barack Obama can lay claim to the title of King of Corporate Subsidies.

Using any of a variety of measures, the Obama administration has broken all records in the distribution of taxpayer dollars to American businesses, primarily banks, automobile manufacturers and insurance companies.

The tidal wave of dollar bills has stunned folks on all sides of the political spectrum."

Talk about "spot on"!!!!!

Sure they are. While you decry the food stamps for needy Americans you are all for billion dollar subsidies for farms, oil, banking, drilling, and just about every other corporation with their hands out. Conservatives are just FINE with business and corporations recieving billions of dollars of our money. If you are serious conservatives, turn off the spigot filling up the cofers of corporate America and then let's look at the seniors getting meals on wheels....
