DaWraith, I don't know who you are, but I read comments everyday just to see your take on things. Your arguments are pithy and lucid, and for the most part reflective of what responsibally cognizant people are thinking. Honey, I think you need your own column. It would be a*****of a lot more interesting than most stuff posted here.

Congratulations human beings.

Sorry haters and self-serving idiots...like the comments from the Bishops (comment sections was removed)..

Is it just so absurd that the Catholic bishops..so many who are homosexual, have covered up child abuse, and preach tolerance, love, and forgiveness...I can't go on...just so ridiculous and hypocritical.

Interesting that the editors took down the comments on the bishops article. Does the truth hurt? Is censorship the name of the game for this sham they call a newspaper?

to put it in tolerable term. The stowawys on the cruise ship have been allowed to decide the menue for 1st class on the airplane. chickens and decide what food to exempt from human consumption. Liberal's are still a majority in office and they haven't harmed the republican cash drawer yet.

hef : Keep in mind the SC decision shifts the policy to the States. This is really a "conservative" states rights decision. The gay marriage issue will be voted on state by state now. The Court was correct in doing this in terms of State's rights. There are no Federal marriage laws or licenses. They followed the letter of the law on this. It was refreshing that ,although mostly Catholic, the judges did not allow their personal beliefs to color their legal thinking. They were objective.

The citizens of each state will have to determine what "marriage" is- going forward- in their respective states.

I do not see WV legalizing this. The votes are not there; too few gays and liberals.

The NR is not reporting the responses of our Congressional delegation to the SC ruling. Why? McKinley is highly opposed. Rockefeller is in favor.

@emcanich: What you are reading here is the frustration that has come to overwhelm Middle America, as our values and the values of our nation's founder’s has become an object of ridicule, as praised by our current President and promoted by those buyers of votes in Washington. Like you, I don’t think many who post here care what a person’s sexual preference might be, what race, religion, or national origin they may be, but what we do care about is our Constitution and the continuance of our nation as the strongest, both economically and militarily, in the world . As our nation’s moral values are allowed to deteriorate so does our society, and someone, generally a person with a knowledge of history, must stand-up and defend our principles, or otherwise, we shall certainly perish.

Imaeunuch, there is something to be said for 10,000 years of human history and every major religion.

Why the reason for change now?

The property and benifits issue can be handled by CONTRACT LAW.

Allow DOMESTIC PARTNER registration.

California voters OVERWHELMINGLY rejected GAY MARRIAGE, who the f**** is the SCOTUS to over rule the WILL of the MAJORITY????

Senegalese President Macky Sall rebuffed Obama's call for Africans to give gays equal rights under the law.

"We are still not ready to decriminalize homosexuality," Sall said, while insisting that the country is "very tolerant" and needs more time to digest the issue without pressure. "This does not mean we are homophobic."
