hoopie, Do the research about solar costs yourself. I'm looking on the sites that sell the solar water heating equipment and they have prices! Easy to figure the return on investment when you use the NUMBERS! This is not some right-left-wing article result!

I don't buy the scare tactic dying. If there is a will to make money off of energy, it will be made. Don't buy all of this doom and gloom from the right wing. Living in fear all of the time is not healthy.

Iowa produces the highest percentage of wind power versus demand! The months with the least generation July and August, when the electric is at "peak" demand. Summer is the time of year that electric is needed most, got to run those AC units....

Maybe the answer is wind, solar and walking power! How many of you would like windmills and solar panels in your yard?

Do some research and see how long it takes to get your ROI for a simple solar water heating system. How much do you think it costs initially for the solar system to heat your water?
