It is difficult enough for most people to send aged or infirm relatives to nursing homes when they believe good care will be provided....

Home of the Good Shepherd which is - btw - a marvel of "adaptive reuse" as well. HOGS is the largest nursing facility in WV.

yes geo operators do make political donations.
Operators should take a tour of Wheeling's Hope of the Good Shepherd. It is a marvel of good care. Exemplary in every way. The DWC should be commended.

The problem is far worse than this article intimates. The hospital/nursing home industries have conspired to weaken civil recourse available to victims of their abuses; and, lawyers are in some cases complicit. One of us here, subsequent accident injuries, endured nine months in a coma due to head injuries that went at first undiagnosed at multiple hospitals; then, a subsequent nine months in a nursing home. He had been given up for dead by his family; and, left alone to the tender mercies of hospital/nursing home administrators while largely unconscious, developed bed sores so deep the bones of his spine were exposed; suffered multiple falls with additional, documented, head injuries; was given insufficient fluids and developed bladder stones that later required surgical removal; and, was physically assaulted. All of that was documented. Yet, he was denied legal recourse; and, the institutions weren't, as far as we know, even cited for their abuses.
