Love it when these planes tour. Wheeling had a Heinkel German bomber, a B17 and cargo plane used in the Berlin airlift up there once. The bomber and cargo plane you could climb inside, what a great way to understand what our grandfathers experienced in WWII. The B17 is a lot smaller than I ever imagined it. Never have seen a B25 on the ground, or a P51. Can't wait to get pictures of those. Did not know the local connection to the development of those planes. The P51 is credited with winning the airwar over Europe and preventing the Germans from reinforcing their defenses inland of Normandy on D Day. This is great.
