I have nothing good or bad to say about Roxby but do not have a lot of confidence in the area of magistrate court in general. I know some personally and they are likable and good people. However, how things are handled in magistrate court is a joke. WVU is right,(regarding my initial comment), he will go to Ohio where it all began. None the less, he choked a cop in wheeling.

Maybe Roxby is not liked by some because he does not back the Blue Shields and railroad the accused. It would be about time for one of the magistrates to stand up to officers who lie. Magistrate is a big money maker, not about justice anyway. Guess they figured this guy was only good for $50.

@citizensknow: It is unconscionable that hiding behind a fabricated screen name you would attack Joe Roxby as you have. I know Mr. Roxby, not personally, but none the less know him, and I can’t imagine that there is any merit at all to your libelous ranting’s. Unless you have documented proof of your statements and insinuations, then you should come out and tell us who you are, display the proof you have, however, failing this you should label yourself a coward and after posting an apology should ask the newspaper to take down your posting. So many are quick to throw stones from the cover of anonymity.

ciizensknow. It is obvious you have a personal issue with Magistrate Roxby and your bias is evident. However, personal attacks, wishing ill-will on his family and your criticism of his assistant seemingly based on nothing more than appearance, are uncalled for. Your message is lost in all your hate.

Setting bond is no easy matter, especially considering political correctness. I'm surprised such an inflammatory picture of the alleged perpetrator was published. Surely he has a sweet grade school picture laying about or perhaps a preschool picture sitting in front of a Christmas tree. Surely a probable cause hearing is next and a policeman or two will be suspended for not shouting, "Sir, I implore you, please stop." Will Wheeling's Human Rights Commission and the ACLU please report to the Correctional Facility, your services are required.

Maybe things would have been different for him if he'd been able to receive one of those low-interest college loans...

I agree. $500 is ridiculously low bond for all of the offenses this guy is charged with. I don't think he looks stunned in the photo though - I think this is his way of pretending that he doesn't understand what is happening to him, and that this was all a misunderstanding.

Shocking that this guy was arrested again. Get it, shocking, cuz of the taser. He was in the NRJ a few days ago. And the 500 can't be right for the bond. Even 5000 would be on the low end of things.

NO WAY-- $500 BOND The guy runs from police, crosses state line, causes damage to a cruiser, chokes officer, gets stunned and 500 bond.

He looks like he is still stunned in the photo. I have heard of $5000 bond for less crime. Wow is it a crap shoot down there.....
