I remember, as a very little boy, going from my grandmother's house on Warwood Avenue to attend a firemen's fair or some other community event at the site where a few years later they built Warwood Plaza. I remember it well because a Native American was featured with his wigwam--that I really remember. Ditto for the space at Warwood Plaza which opened as Bakery and remained one for all these years. Little did I realize at the age of 8 that I would attend college in Montana, a state with many Native Americans, most of whom only used a Wigwam when hustling tourists. I'm glad to see Warwood Plaza intact; my Grandmother's house further north still stands but time has not be kind to it--not at all.

give it a few years and it will close up. nobody other than warwooders will travel to this store. they will tire of it. highlands has much, much more to offer and more store selections.

Peebles gets their merchandise from the same places as Wal-Mart and Target and probably pays lower wages. If this was a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, Gloria would be in a fury, her Depends soaking wet.

But it's not Wal-Mart so it is okay.

Will the residents of Warwood actually apply for jobs at Peebles or will they continue to demand that Barry Hussein Soetero deliver their check every month?

I wish Peebles luck. I just don't see them lasting long-term in a place like Wheeling.

I am very excited to see this and am happy for Warwood. They have needed something like this to put some life back in the town.

I can't wait! Finally a decent store that sells more than dollar items, hardware or cigarettes. I'd like to see a nice buffet style restaurant like a Ponderosa or a Golden Corral which no other area in the county has & would do allot of business in conjunction with the new Peebles Department Store!

that might be a great fit for the store and the neighborhood. Peebles is a fine department store, not too big not too small and sells quality stuff. Thats good news.
