"Federal officials should provide enough funding to complete the highway no later than 2020."

Haha, yes we will move right to the top of their list. Did you see the county map of West Virginia after the last election? It looked something like this: RED. We're not getting a dime from this current government. Corridor H is a pipe dream. They regret starting it, and they sulk at the thought of having to finish it.

"Billions of dollars of exported goods from West Virginia will have direct access to the large inland port at Front Royal, Virginia - where double-stacked container rail can then take the goods to the deepest port on the Eastern Seaboard at Norfolk. Because of this, it is estimated that 80,000 jobs will be created throughout the Corridor System with the completion of Corridor H."

Da mn politicians lie again....

I-68 North of Corridor H (both built because of a bill passed in 1965 by Congress), the results are in!

Total full-time and part-time employment has grown slower in the I-68 corridor than in Maryland and the U.S. both before and after the freeway was completed. However, employment in Allegany County has grown faster since I-68 was finished, 0.5 percent per year from 1976 to 1991 versus 0.7 percent per year from 1991 to 2000. Like population, Garrett County employment growth has decelerated since the freeway was completed in 1991."

That the so-called "Corridor H" will ever be completed, let alone started, is one of the Great Lies that the folks in this state believe. Some other ones: the one-party system is OK, fracking is good for WV and its citizens, the notion that coal is by any definition "clean", and that Oliver Luck knows what he's doing.
