Unless someone discovers that there is a Nerf shale that will produce mountains of nerf to be sold to the Swedes, we are going to have accidents. When incompetence is found, the police should prosecute those operating equipment unsafely, but to expect that we are going to make the USA energy independent without there being accidents is unrealistic. Look at coal, we have had accidents for a hundred years. The chemical plants have explosions, killing some workers and several times shutting down traffic on the Ohio River and Rt 2. Industry is often dangerous work. We will have more accidents for people to wring their hands over and cry out in anguish that we are being destroyed. You have that to look forward to. Energy is important and natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel and we have the worlds largest supply right here. Change is upon us and is very difficult for some, scary for others and it outrages those who love being outraged.

one accident after another.at what point do they become incompetent?can't keep this stuff from leaking on the roads.these gas companies must have lots of money to pay for insurance with the high accident rate that they have.

Marcellus is right. Any industry that has any accident involving construction equipment should be IMMEDIATELY shut down, fined into bankruptcy, and permanently banned from ever doing business in the state. We don't need that kind of trouble here.

And don't get me started on Halliburton. I heard that unknown substance leaking from that tanker was the blood of a thousand children, enroute to Dick Cheney's subterranean lair...

NO DOUBT the 'wonderful' shale gas drilling industry was responsible for this accident, AGAIN! How many of you heard about the major interstate I-70 being TOTALLY shutdown yesterday for over 4 hours due to a HALLIBURTON tanker leaking toxic chemicals for 30 miles? WORST part of all is that the truck manifest did not clearly indicate what the tanker was carrying! Talk about changes that need to be made when it comes to trucking documents and placards!! SPILLING IS JUST THE BEGINNING
