Meeting to determine the goals of the City Manager should be held in public. The difference of opinion should be put out in the open for the people to know where their public officials stand. This is why there are Sunshine Laws. They are not talking about personnel but the goals of the City. Maybe council wants the present discourse in the city today. Why should this be discussed behind closed doors. They have problems in this city and it looks like it starts with mayor, council and closed doors.

Question- Is being a city manager in Steubenvill profitable? Why do so many want the job? I, for one would not have it. Too many problems. Won't be long until the State, or Freds will be coming in to clean house.

I think it will take more than a "NEW" "GOOD" city manager to clean up Steubenville. I see "BREAKING NEWS" on news 9/7 almost every other day about shots fired there. I really don't think that "Shots fired" in Steubenville can be considered breaking news any longer. I think the hiring should start with new people in charge of the city/law enforcement who will be able to take down the thugs that live there. City Manager is not going to fix the city till the violence is under control.
