It's typical for some people to get on here and post negative comments about somebody else's success. Usually it's because they have feelings of inadequacy in their own lives and feel better about themselves when they can put someone else down. I think it's fantastic that she won. I don't care if she's from Downtown Wheeling or the outskirts of Woodsfield. She's still local and still and amazing talent. She worked hard to get where she has and started out paying her dues here in the area. I am very happy for her, She deserves this.

whgflailing has claimed a lot of crap here including that he was a decorated POW in the Iraq war until a real combat veteran challenged him here in this blog that nobody from the OV was listed as a POW in Iraq.

Of course he folded his cards.

Agree with Atoddh. The musical talent that has come out of the Ohio Valley is incredible considering its tiny size and depressing economic conditions.

The city "fathers" think CW music is Hillbilly and they THINK Wheeling is NYC. WRONG!

CW is THE music of rural America, get a clue. Embrace your heritage.

These are kinds of young talents who formerly got their starts at Wheeling's iconic Jamboree USA. The City chose to chase a renewed JUSA proposal away: a huge huge error that has ruined any chance of Downtown tourism revival. Nothing is left of Downtown now ;millions later squandered by WNHAC(the experts.)

Congratulations to a young woman who seems to have her head on straight.

Go to college for a REAL degree so that you can get a REAL job in case your dream career doesn't work out. She made a great choice and will always have something on which she can rely.

As for the $1 million-after he agent/manager and the IRS get through with her, she will have about $450,000 left over-still a nice nest egg and probably more than she would make in 10 years of nursing.

I wish her all the best.

I didn't watch the show so I don't know if she lied about where she is from.
