MarkWest's OLE SMOKEY in Houston Pa is back in the Observer-Reporter newspaper today, their plant can't seem to operate without producing ongoing billows of fire and black smoke. The Pa DEP needs to shut them down! observer-reporter****/article/20130823/NEWS01/130829753#.UhilQILD_cs

Negative pontificators would complain about taxes if they won the lottery. Can any of you recall an investment in our area where the dollar amount started with a "B"?

More smoke and mirrors from the boys at MarkWest! Interesting that this MarkWest exec trotted-out the oldest industry LIE once again to continue your brainwashing: "Regarding the drilling process, Portman emphasized there are no confirmed reports of natural gas fracking leading to groundwater contamination." There were 161 cases recently documented by the Pa DEP, revealed in a news story last month by the Scranton Times-Tribune. This exec must think no one reads the newspaper, or believes that fracking is limited to one precise moment, it's an entire process. Hopefully MarkWest will get BIG fines for their recent fish kill and their 'Ole Smokey' billion dollar gas plant near Houston, Pa.

You will NEVER see lower tax rates on anything. Once government passes a tax (or levy) or starts a spending program, it never goes away.

Additional revenue will only encourage government to spend even more money.

Does anyone truly believe that if federal revenues hit $4 trillion that we would have a $400 billion surplus? No. The government officials would find something of "crucial importance" and they would waste the money. In fact, they would BORROW more money and we would be back in deficit land.

Government officials should only get to vote on an overall budget that covers their minimum functions. All of this add on, pork spending, etc. is a waste.

Yea..just don't sell the taxpayers short. Make sure we the taxpayers profit from it buy lower tax rates, good paying jobs and no huge mess of waste and destruction to have to clean up on our dime. Our wonderfull leaders here in Belmont County have already tried to pass bridge and road repairs on the the citizens because of all the damage from the trucks. I'm all for jobs but not if we are paying the wages and all the costs associated with them being here.
