..and by the way...DUI checkpoints... make them true DUI checkpoints...roll a breathalyzer...if you're under..keep going..if you're drunk...then and only then should the cops be allowed to check your identity, search you and your vehicle, and typical things that occur WHEN you are actually being detained or arrested. DUI checkpoints are a complete violation of several of our rights and a very traumatizing event for many innocent citizens. Citizens join together to take back your freedoms.

13.79 square land miles, less than 28,000 citizens, and a mega inflated police force.

Sorry DiCarlo's, there's no grant for that.

I find it odd the police did not notice the window out Downtown as they patrolled. There must have been glass everywhere.

Yes Rover and the perp knew to wait for the alarm to engage.

Yet this is rather brash. Probably needed drug money.

Do the Wheeling Police EVER prevent crime or catch criminals?

The "city" population continues to dwindle yet, the police force consumes millions of dollars each year in operations and pension payments. What are taxpayers getting for their money?

The Wheeling PD has 10 or 12 positions funded by a Homeland Security grant, new vehicles, new toys, this, that and the next thing.

Yet, crime continues to increase as former Detroit residents start to spill over into Woodsdale/Oakmont/Steenrod/Pleasanton/Edgewood.

In Wheeling, basic math works as follows:

Population decrease + crime increase = budget increase.

Wheeling has the largest police force in the valley yet because they are more concerned with operating check points, radar traps, and license plate scanning, the city is left without proper protection from car break ins and home burglaries!!

As always, barney fife shows up at the same time every time!

You might be onto something, rover. Because if the thief is black OR white he would look a little like Obama. So we have a start on a Wanted poster already. Now if he turns out to be asian, well, maybe Bobby Jindal could give that touching speech and be on that poster...

Aug-28-13 5:20 PM experience at closing up a business and no alarm was set. I think anyone can figure out that the wrong person was fired earlier in the month.

"The man was wearing a .......hood..

I HAD A DREAM and it was the Presdent commenting on this horrible crime,

Obama,"if I had a son he would look like the man who robbed DiCarlo's"

But, that was just a dream.

ps: The cops might want to check out who may have KNOWN money was kept in the cash register at night. And known how/where not to face the security camera. Hint: first check who may have had a motive. Good luck! I
