bbwhahahaha! Opie backs OFF now and will try to blame Congress:

"CNN) -- U.S. President Barack Obama said Saturday that the United States "should take military action against Syrian targets" over its alleged use of chemical weapons, but added that he will seek congressional authorization for the move. In a televised address from the White House Rose Garden, the president appealed for congressional leaders to consider their responsibilities and values in debating U.S. military action over Syria's alleged chemical weapons use.

"Today I'm asking Congress to send a message to the world that we are united as one nation," he said. Obama said he had spoken with top congressional leaders, and that they had agreed to schedule a debate when Congress returns to Washington on September 9."

Any bets how many of HIS OWN PARTY will vote against him???

'Syrians 'bracing' screams this headline.

Well, they will have a long 'brace'. Constitutional Lawyer Obama has, of course, gone to Congress for permission to strike this murderer of babies.

However, the Number 2 Ohio idiot (wraith being Number 1) 'Cry-Baby Boner' has put off House 'consideration of the matter until mid September.

MOSCOW – Russia dramatically escalated its denunciations of American threats to attack Syrian military targets on Saturday, as President Vladimir Putin called the arguments about chemical weapons that underlie the U.S. case “UTTER NONSENSE.”

The Foreign Ministry said a U.S. attack would be a “gross violation” of international law.

Speaking out for the first time since an alleged chemical weapons attack near Damascus on Aug. 21, Putin called on President Obama to find a nonviolent way out of the crisis.

“I would like to address Obama as a Nobel Peace Prize laureate: Before using force in Syria, it would be good to think about future casualties,” Putin told Russian news agencies in Vladivostok during a tour of the country’s flood-stricken Far East.

“Russia is urging you to think twice before making a decision on an operation in Syria,” he said.

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

So is John "Swiftboat" Heinz-Kerry FOR this war against Syria and then afterwards will be AGAINST it also????

DailyBeast 8/29/13:

The Obama administration has refused to send gas masks and other chemical-weapons protection gear to Syrian opposition groups, despite numerous requests dating back more than a year and until the reported chemical-weapons attack that struck the Damascus suburbs August 21.

Following the harrowing attack that left more than 1,300 dead and more than 3,000 injured in East Ghouta and other Damascus suburbs, the Obama administration is contemplating a strike on the regime of Bashar al-Assad. But Syrian civilians are still trying to cope with the tragedy and treat the wounded, who include scores of children caught sleeping when the gas was dispersed. The attack zone has a fatal shortage of gas masks, chemical-weapons protection gear, and the nerve agent antidote atropine; civilians and activists have been forced to resort to crafting makeshift masks out of everyday household items.

Opie is truly CLUELES!

From the article, Kerry “referred to Iraq - when Bush administration assurances that weapons of mass destruction were present proved false”

"When I vote to give the President of the United States the authority to use force, if necessary, to disarm Saddam Hussein, it is because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a threat, and a grave threat, to our security and that of our allies in the Persian Gulf region. I will vote yes because I believe it is the best way to hold Saddam Hussein accountable." —Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9,2002

Bush assurances? How about YOUR assurances, John “Winter Soldier” Kerry? Hypocrite.

AP:The U.S. military, struggling after defense cuts of tens of billions of dollars, will be unable to pay for attacks on Syria from current operating funds and must seek additional money from Congress, according to congressional aides.

President Barack Obama, meanwhile, said on Friday he has not made a final decision on a military strike against Syria. He sought to play down both the scope and duration of the anticipated punitive missile and bombing campaign.

So what, like we borrow the money from China to attack Syria. Put it all on the great credit card in the sky . . . . .

So if we cannot BOMB the source of Chemical warfare, WTF ARE we going to bomb??

And if we succeed in toppling the current government, with NO BOOTS on the GROUND, the ensuing CHAOS will kill way more people over time than the chemical warfare.

Seems Opie shot off his big mouth without thinking this on through.

The current government of Syria is suppored by terrorist group Hezbollah and the rebels are supported by the Taliban!!!

So the USA is going to the Taliban's new BFF??? We are the Taliban's Air Force???

WASHINGTON (AP) - You simply can't safely bomb a chemical weapon storehouse into oblivion, experts say. That's why they say the United States is probably targeting something other than Syria's nerve agents.

But now there is concern that bombing other sites could accidentally release dangerous chemical weapons that the U.S. military didn't know were there because they've lost track of some of the suspected nerve agents.

Bombing stockpiles of chemical weapons - purposely or accidentally - would likely kill nearby civilians in an accidental nerve agent release, create a long-lasting environmental catastrophe or both, five experts told The Associated Press. That's because under ideal conditions - and conditions wouldn't be ideal in Syria - explosives would leave at least 20 to 30 percent of the poison in lethal form.

Yes, go ahead and bomb them to make them ready to receive some direct help. How about we send Obama, McCain and their buddies in 1st. Lets let them run Syria and make it such a nice peaceful place like Detroit. Could someone please explain to me "what difference does it make" if one is killed by chemicals or bullets or bombs. Are not the killed still dead? So, to stop people from killing each other We, the USA are going to bomb them? If this works, why not bomb Detroit and Chicago to stop the killings there?
