Our enemies are killing each other so why should we impede their progress? The U.S. can't play policeman all over the world, we have enough problems and WAY too much debt already!

UNLESS these is an international commitment to put troops ON THE GROUND, simple bombing will only topple the existing government and leave chaos in its place.

Look at Egypt and Libya for examples.

And I agree NO MORE US troops to a new country there, EFF 'em! Let the"Arab League" fix their OWN friggen mess on their doorstep.

Egypt was a horrible disaster. An ally for 40 years with a permanent peace treaty with Israel? An educated population of 80 million?

Now a chaos third world craphole.

Cross the pyramids off your bucket list!

The limitation is important because if you have any kind of memory at all (that means over weeks) you can recall that last month Obama's political General was before Congress saying that it might be necessary to invade Syria, and its also true that Obama has been building up an invasion force in the region for nearly a year and from time to time (long before this Gulf of Tonkin incident)mentioned that it might be necessary to invade. Some military people say the main reason Obama will not bring the troops home from Iraq/Afghanistan is to have a large force there for his other wars. His maybe some air support killed 35,000 Libyans over 8 months of US bombing (no Congress on that one). Military force was threatened in Egypt so the military would remove Mubarak for the Muslim Brotherhood, military force was used in Libya to install them and now the MB can't seem to topple Asaad so its time for Obama to give radical Islam another country. Please Obama, no more war(s).

The mission as stated is meant to only punish...the problem is that many many innocent people will be punished, not the perpetrators of this atrocity. If this mission will make the world safer by diminishing the use of chemical weapon use in the world, then by all means, bomb away...the truth is, this will be an isolated, short-term statement that will only, once again, make America look like global bullies with their God complex....it's not our job...it's not our mission to punish, but to help.

Why would anyone think we would use troops in this situation. Our President didn't use troops in Benghazi when American diplomats were being killed, so why here? When the President and the Congress started deciding how wars were to be conducted (Truman forward) and not won, that was the start of our decline as a nation to be respected and listened to. No, our troops should not be called upon here but if, when and where, they are called to serve, they must go unfettered to win.

This administration seems to be trying to put the Muslim Brotherhood in control of the entire middle east and supply our sworn enemies with all the firepower they need to wage war!!

However ANY aid to our enemies is TREASON!

Why is congress not calling for the trial and execution of all these traitors who wish to fund and ARM our sworn enemies???!!!

According to the United States Constitution, Article III, § 3, “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”

Under federal statute, a person guilty of treason against the United States “shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.” 18 U.S.C. § 2381.

The USA stays in a continual state of war because the military industrial complex has the power to control our countries leaders no matter what party they are in. The common man can do little to stop this or any war they want to get in. What is to be gained by bombing Syria? And who is to gain by bombing Syria?
