Herc is right in the sense that the bars are not to blame for this death.

Those two bars are, however, to blame for the decreasing quality of life in that area. The alpha is a fine restaurant, but as a bar, they are a terrible neighbor.

The owls nest is worse because they have no redeeming feature, such as decent food. They both attract loud, boisterous, and increasingly criminal elements.

Here's an idea! How about people stop blaming the d a m n bars and the bridge and start having the people who committed the crime be held responsible!? I know that's a really difficult concept for everyone to grasp these days. Everyone wants to blame everyone and everything else for their problems but let's be real the people who beat this guy to death are responsible. The students had every right to be where they were as anyone else. Destroying a bridge or closing bars simply because you don't like them being there will solve nothing. People will always find a way to get where they want to go and do what they are free to do. The very idea that those two inanimate objects are responsible is ridiculous!

Im sure without the bridge the students would not go to bars and find another route home.

Your better selection of wording and certainly more dramatic would be the use of the word "stalked." Were you there? Do you know who incited the confrontation? Do you know why the other WJU student can't get his story straight? Let justice take its course and try not to be so pious.

This article is about the Priest, not the victim or the student body. That bridge to the bars is an invitation to disaster and should be closed. This case is not a done deal as readers are being lead to believe.
