No, it's an editorial and editorials are more opinions than news. Either way, item points out just how much an idiot this nappy hair refugee from a watermelon patch is.

It is against the law to hunt and kill the eagles. If you are driving down a road and hit one with a car you have not broken any laws. Same can be said if an eagle slams into the side of your house. Please do try to inform your readership and not mislead them for political purpose.

Hey, NR got just what it wants from its continuous stream of right wing extremist disrespect for President Obama. Someone like Johnson2616 to express exactly what the NR really, really feels. Good job NR. Keep their hair on fire.

No one takes wildlife impacts more seriously than the wind industry, and while some eagles occasionally collide with turbines at some wind farms this is not a common occurrence, with fatalities of golden eagles at modern wind facilities only representing 2% of all documented sources of human caused fatalities and only a few bald eagles in the history of the industry.

This figure is far lower than other leading causes, including lead poisoning, poisoning in general, electrocutions, collisions with vehicles, drowning in stock tanks, and illegal shootings, and the only reason we know as much as we do is because unlike these other sources, the wind industry is conducting pre and post-construction surveys and self-reporting the losses.

The wind industry is actively engaged with both the regulatory and conservation communities to find ways of further avoiding, minimizing and fully mitigating for any impacts to both species.

Why, does anyone know, do they insist on publishing drivel like this, but let what could be really big news slide? For instance, late last year, on September 24, 2012, the US Navy's Naval Research Laboratory issued a news release: "Fueling the Fleet, Navy Looks to the Seas", which explains that the US Navy has developed all the technology needed to collect Carbon Dioxide from the environment, extract Hydrogen from water, and use the two to synthesize all the liquid hydrocarbon fuels we could ever need, at a cost as low as three bucks a gallon. One of their patents on their technologies: "United States Patent 7,420,004 - Producing Synthetic Liquid Hydrocarbon Fuels; Assignee: The USA as Represented by the Secretary of the Navy"; even specifies using wind and hydro, "wave", energy to drive the collection of CO2 and it's conversion into hydrocarbon fuels.

And, even more real news they should be telling you about directly concerning West Virginia: Just this year, in 2013, WVU was awarded three US Patents: "US Patent 8,465,561 - Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil in Coal Liquefaction; June 18, 2013; West Virginia University"; "US Patent 8,449,632 - Sewage Material in Coal Liquefaction; May 28, 2013; West Virginia University"; and: "US Patent 8,512,551 - Forming Cement as a By-Product of Coal Liquefaction; August 20, 2013; West Virginia University"; all of which explain how carbon recycling wastes, like sewage sludge, and agricultural produce, like vegetable oil, can be converted, along with Coal, into a synthetic crude perfectly suitable as a feed for a standard petroleum refinery; and, how the remaining ash can be used to make Portland-type cement.

And, since President Obama is targeted here, why is it never mentioned that, while still a US Senator, he partnered with WV's Senator Robert Byrd, and others, as a co-sponsor, in the 110th Congress, of Senate Bill 155, the "Coal-to-Liquid Fuel Promotion Act of 2007", which would have, had it not, totally unpublicized, died in committee, helped us to develop an industry for converting Coal into gasoline and diesel, like they're starting to do in a big way in China, like they've been doing in South Africa for the past half a century?

cowtransplant, udder BS. This country is the Shiite hole thanks to the Golfer in Chief.

I think you are an effing racist for supporting a president who has made black youth unemployment 48%, higher than the Great Depression!

I think you are a racist for supporting a president where WHITE unemployment is 7.4% and Black unemployment is 13%.

I think you are rich snob for supporting a president who has lowered the average income for Americans by almost $5000 in 56 months, while the Rich have gotten vaster richer thanks to his Wall Street Bailout.

I think you are an effing Anarchist for supporting a President who has violated the Constitution by not submitting a budget in 56 months, for unilaterally trying to declare war on a soverign country, for bypassing Congress on EPA regulations, and for unilaterally not enforcing Obamacare.

You Sux, you rich racist snob.

All those nice patents. Where is the viability? Coal to liquid fuel is still a nice dream. It is old technology. The problem lies in the cost. Make all the liquids you want but it increases the cost from 130 to 150%.

this is news?>>

Well, it would be on the national news if 67 bald eagles were killed each year by those evil oil companies and a Republican was President. Kind of like the homeless problem, during (D) presidencies, there doesn't appear to be any homeless. At least none that any mainstream (CBS, NBC, ABC) media outlet can find to write stories about.

TO an Obama worshipper like you, Mitt Romney's personal assets are a bigger story than dead bald eagles

Interesting how the country elected a black man but now once he becomes known as incompetent on every level and is denounced as such, all those who do so are to "put on their "hoods". Typical liberal blather. Do you not have any other means to defend the actions or inactions of the president? No, you do not.

The Onion-"Bush Orders Mass Bald Eagle Slaughter To Stop Spread Of Bird Flu- Nov 2, 2005 WASHINGTON, DC—As experts issue increasingly dire warnings of an avian flu epidemic, President Bush signed an executive order Tuesday authorizing the mass slaughter of "all bald eagles found anywhere within our borders.""As president, my first duty is to protect the American people, whether the threat is terrorists or deadly, fast-mutating bird viruses," said Bush, standing on the lawn of the National Mall before a specially built pyre stacked with recently killed bald eagles. "This proactive initiative will rid our nation of this potentially disease-ridden winged animal."

WVUGEO, I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong but was'nt a coal to liquid fuel plant built in Morgantown following the gas shortage/lines in the early 70S; a plant that never went into production, has set empty for decades, and other uses are being sought for it? If so, I would'nt consider Obama's support of a coal to liquid fuel bill of 2007 anything more than him buying a political IOU from a senior senator.
