Why not identify the other drunk WJU student. You know, the one who dropped Figaniak's head on the sidewalk?

Freudian Projection.

"Suspects Say We Didn’t Start Fight", But you followed them 938 feet...

Why did you follow them 938 feet, if you didn't start the fight??? That is the question police are asking, or should be asking.

Both alcohol,(false bravery)and young testosterone, (ramped bravery)---you have a recipe for violence...

Who is to blame? We don't know! We were not there... Testimony is key to knowing what happened there that night...

Following 938 feet--is very suspicious, yet the surviving victim didn't want the police called--very suspicious!

Gotta wait for the trial on this one...

Right now--both aggressors and victims seem suspicious..

Marcellus “Where's TOOLPLAYER on this one?”

Yeah Marcy. I’m really surprised with this one. Because we NEVER had a single fistfight in the Ohio Valley before the O&G folks got here. This area was pure as the driven snow, no pollution, no crime, no noise, no dust even, and then the roughnecks had to come and spoil all the purity and sweetness. Like a shadow. OOOoooooo....

As someone said, none of us were there, but the facts will come out. Alpha has good survailance. The coroners report will reveal-though I do not think that anyone could blame freind for this.

no one it seems will ever know what happened, the victims friend was too drunk to remember and letting him fall to the curb might have sealed his fate, the other guys told their side of the story but there is no one backing it up either, it's true that it is a tragic event that should have never happened but it has not be dis proven that the WJU kids were "innocent" it might be found that they started the fight, just be cause they were from WJU does not mean they were pure and innocent either. I would doubt the others went to fight with intent to kill. I'm not on either side and this death should have never happened but we can't put all the blame on the other guys without knowing what the WJU kids might or might not have done.

First, none of us were there.

Second, the surviving "victim" tried to lift the deceased and dropped him back, where his head struck the curb. A coroner/autopsy should be able to determine what caused the fatal blow.

Third, most of the crime in the Wheeling area is not coming from drillers. It is coming from Detroit refugees and former housing project dwellers.

Fourth, why would the surviving "victim" try and take his friend back to campus and offer money to a bystander to help him and keep quiet?

Fifth, a charge of murder will NEVER stand. Even if the drillers followed the victim with the intent to fight, there was no premeditated or even spur of the moment decision to murder someone.

Sixth, and finally, a change of venue might be in order. I don't believe that the shallow jury (and gene) pool in the Ohio Valley can think logically enough to decide this case on the basis of evidence.

DahWraith According to the medical examinaer's report Trayvon Martin was 5' 11" and 158 pounds. Even if he was 6' 3" and 160 pounds like you claim, he would be built like JJ from Good Times. Zimmerman assumed since Martin was black and wearing a hoody he was up to something and he pursued Martin. Zimmerman claims Martin confronted him, even if that is true Martin had the right to stand his ground. Talk about records! Zimmerman was charged with assulting a police officer, domestic violence and a cousin claimed he sexally assulted her for a decade. Look at Zimmernan since the trial a speeding ticket where the officer had to tell him to quit playing with his gun. Then this week he punched his father inlaw destoyed his wife's I-pad and his wife was afraid he would start shooting. Talk about a loose cannon. Him and his wife also used money for personnel use that was donated to cover his legal bills by nuts like you.

@ richrdson-At this time of night on weekends at the Alpha, there are usually 2 officers inside. Even if it started there, in such a crowded place, unless reported, it would be unlikely that they would have knowledge. Many patrons are walking or getting rides. I dont think we can blame the business or police. The Alpha does hire officers to prevent trouble. I have picked kids up there during college break at this late hour. Cruisers are circling. The bar is packed and difficult to get a drink, one person often orders several for friend-impossible for bartenders to track. The owner will warn anyone using F word anytime he hears it. They are a thriving business. I dont think we can blame them. Kasserman girl paralyzed young man after drunk at Generations but what about those who carry a flask.

OhioDUM you *******, Trayvon was 6'3" 160 according to his parents, had a criminal record longer than your ***k, and just like the Jesuit student issues, he pursued Zimmerman, confronted him, and started a fight.

There are many well thought out comments here. I do not blame it on oil and gas. Didnt the same thing happen a few months ago in Fulton where a local man died from a drunk fight? No out of towners involved. I think that the students walked and were following by the 3 men speaks volumes. In past article posts, many comments about young men, testosterone and alcohol-normalizing this behavior. When someone walks away, they do not want to fight-good decision regardless of intoxication. Courts need to send a message that this is not OK regardless of hormones and alcohol and that the aggressor is responsible for the outcome. If victim dies, its murder. This should be a lesson for ALL that consider resolving disputes with violence.

whgfeeling: A person reading my post, free of prejudice, which seemingly you are not, would recognize that I'm not defending anyone. I only insist that all men are created equal under the Constitution of our nation, and are presumed innoncent until proven guilty. Backwoods and heathen justice have no place in our society, wouldn't you agree?
