If the Chinese follow the US lead- converting to gas for power - it would result in a huge export opportunity for the US. Gas can also be used for transportation. All of this will benefit the OV which has, arguably, one of the the Worlds largest gas deposits.

McKinley wants "like-minded" people in the Senate so they can take food off the tables of the hungry, keep sick folks from having affordable health care, pollute the environment and wreak havoc on the economy while catering to the rich with lavish tax cuts. Sounds like a plan-a bad plan but a plan nevertheless.

McKinley want like minded people to create and economy that people can purchase their own health care, keep the environment stable, and have rich people invest their money so those of us who have to work for a living can have a job. Not kill the economy (right now we have jobless numbers similar to 1978). Weaken us in the world (Putin taking charge). The list goes on.

smart1, You might want to take a look at Capito's voting record on coal! Remember these peeps are running for office and will tell you anything. She has a 13 year "RECORD" of voting, review it.

Sadly WV probably will be stuck with the same old peeps that have kept the state in 49-50th place...

Wait I thought Manchin was the voice of WV...wait I forgot he sold out already. Lip service from this gal as all the same. No one is listening...in the big picture WV means nothing because they work and don't take the handouts and won't vote for an administration for a free trac phone.

If the people of WV want to be regarded as human beings they need to take the step, even if it is only for one term, to send TWO Republican Senators to D.C. I am a lifelong Dem and I can say that, because its clear that the National Dem Committee has no respect whatsoever for WV, the people or its future. We are throwaway people in their eyes and why not, we have been sending Senators and Congressmen there for years who basically rubber stamp the national agenda and ideology which does not include West Virginians. Want to improve WV, send Capito to D.C. and then let the Dems try to convince us that they care again. Lets make them work for our votes by not flushing us away. Sending more Dems to D.C. is just as dumb as coal miners voting for Obama, which they did cuz he is a Democrat, they just did not know that he thinks they are Dumocrats. Capito will vote for WV, and McKinley has, Manchin is just another party toad and so is Tennant. Big deal she was a mascot. Mascot??

The situation is: coal is declining. It will decline even faster now. There has been no mention of new industry to replace the jobs. The future of WV will not be coal.

triton, Give us a run down on all those Capito votes for WV? Investment banking is her interest (husband is an investment banker). How many WV peeps are in the investment banking industry? Moore-Capito between her and her dad have been in congress or gobernor seat for most of the years since 1957! How is WV doing?

Sadly we likely have no real chance of "new" political blood!

Atoddh, Do realize that the "greenies" are against gas turbines, as well! Methane is a "real" greenhouse gas! CO2, that be part of the carbon cycle! Plant food anyone?

dying: I am being realistic. The policy is now pro gas. This will not be reversed. The die is cast now. Capito is suggesting a vote for her will somehow save coal. Not going to happen. She will be very junior as McKinley is now. WV is in a box. The only solution will be diversification in a hurry. Clinging to the past-steel and coal-is not going to work.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about "affordable" this and "affordable" that.

What makes you arrogant f---s believe that you are entitled to the fruits of someone else's labor at prices YOU will dictate?

Understand this-doctors (providers) provide a service. They are under no obligation to provide this service. They do it voluntarily, in exchange for money from you (patient).

It is a mutually agreeable transaction. Or does Kroger sell you groceries at the price YOU wish to pay, not the price at which you can both agree?

If doctors can find people willing to fork over $200 in cash per visit, what right do YOU have to tell them that they must accept you for $25?

Everyone expects cheap health care but they don't give a darn about the people providing that care.

It is typical spoiled, soft, lazy, entitled, self-centered, arrogant, snot nosed American behavior and it is sickening.

If you don't like your insurance, pay for health care out of pocket.

"take food off the tables of the hungry, keep sick folks from having affordable health care, pollute the environment and wreak havoc on the economy while catering to the rich with lavish tax cuts."

Impressive!! Every stale, tired liberal talking point of the last 20 years in one sentence!!

Obama has paid off the Wall St elite to the tune of $85 billion/month, the middle class has seen their income drop over the last couple years, record low % of Americans participating in the workforce and a huge growth in food stamp recipients!

Facts trump rhetoric every time!

West Virginia voters elected David McKinley to represent them in Congress. Obese, unemployed, underpaid, exploited and obviously irrational mountaineers voting against their own interest. And now it appears that this same suicidal proletariat may be trying to elect Shelly "Moore than Less" Capitol to the United States Senate. Given the chance (6 year term) she will promote privatization of social security, more power to banks, wall street and insurance companies and turn her back on the weak and helpless that elected her.

People whine about the issue of Social Security privatization because they love the idea of government controlling every aspect of their lives and they assume that fellow citizens are just as stupid and lazy as they are.

An American working for 40 years, earning the median wage, would collect less than $2,000 per month upon retirement. Of course, this assumes that Social Security remains solvent. If the worker dies 1 month after retirement, and he has adult children, they get nothing.

This same worker, investing both portions of his social security withholding in an S&P 500 index fund, would collect roughly $1.6 million upon retirement. If he dies 1 month later, his family inherits the money.

Even after taxes (assuming capital gains on the lump sum), a 4% return would give him roughly $3,700 per month and IT WOULD BELONG TO HIM!!!

The stock market has posted an average return of 6% per year for the past 100 years.

Much better than the Ponzi scheme known as Social Sec
