Bureaucrats Hit New Low

October 3, 2013

Part of the reason so many Americans are fed up with government in general is that too often, bureaucrats display a complete lack of common sense. During World War II, Joe McGrain of Rochester, N.Y....

Laughguy, tell under Bush what law had 20 states and 13 organizations suing the Federal Government?

When were there parts of 6 states lookin to LEAVE the United States of America?

There hasn't been that kind of succession talk since 1859.

From the honorable Thomas Sowell,

"The Senate chose not to vote to authorize that money to be spent, because it did not include money for ObamaCare. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says that he wants a "clean" bill from the House of Representatives, and some in the media keep repeating the word "clean" like a mantra. But what is unclean about not giving Harry Reid everything he wants?

If Senator Reid and President Obama refuse to accept the money required to run the government, because it leaves out the money they want to run ObamaCare, that is their right. But that is also their responsibility.

You cannot blame other people for not giving you everything you want. And it is a fraud to blame them when you refuse to use the money they did vote, even when it is ample to pay for everything else in the government."

Well said!

So how do you shut down a "privately funded" open air memorial?

The WW 2 Memorial is a perfect example of the political hypocrisy shown by Obama. The Memorial is mainly funded by private money, yet the admin went out of its way to send govt employees there to "shut it down".

From the National World War II Memorial website, "The National World War II Memorial was funded almost entirely by private contributions, as specified in Public Law 103-32. The campaign received more than $197 million in cash and pledges. Support came from hundreds of thousands of individual Americans, hundreds of corporations and foundations, veterans groups, dozens of civic, fraternal and professional organizations, states and one territory, and students in 1,200 schools across the country."

So how do you shut down an open air memorial? You send govt goons to set up barricades and harass veterans (and family members) trying to pay homage to their fallen comrades. If govt is shutdown, where did the goons come from??

Liberal hypocrisy at its finest!!

Why won't Boehner put the Senate's continuing resolution to a vote? Because it will pass. All Boehner has to do is put that to a vote and this is all over. Boehner refuses to put the Senate's resolution to a vote period. The money is not even an issue. Both have proposed the exact same amount of money for the gov't. Exactly the same. So who is holding who hostage?

Sparky, can't totally agree with you there. A nation that doesn't value it's history has no soul. Take a look around you and see the results of three decades of NEA brainwashing about the unimportance of the past. A recent grade school history text had three pages about Sojourner Truth, and two paragraphs about Abraham Lincoln.

That said, the twine museum and it's ilk should sink or swim on their own.

You are aware that businesses that rent space from the feds are being forced to close. Restaurants, private museums and others that don't use a dime of tax money, in some cases actually paying rent, were ordered shut. It would be interesting to see one of them sue, but will probably not happen.

Oh, and despite what they said about keeping security people on the job, apparently the border patrol is being told by their bosses not to show up on the Mexican border. Wow, what a surprise.

Birdie, Don't count on it. When the great unlistening finds out there were bills sent up to fund their own interests, and hears obie refused to consider them because of his unpopular program, you may see a real sea change. Biggest problem is there is no one in the GOP with an ounce of charisma. Good people just a bit boring.

How many of these Museums and monuments do we have scattered all over the country? How much money does all this stuff cost us? Tens of millions I would guess. Time to close all of them permanently. I served on my first ship, a supply ship during the cold war and one hot war. I would love to see the old girl again, show my daughter and son in law. But they made razor blades out of her. Wheres my museum? And Pelosi said there is nothing left to cut from the budgets? Lying Skank!

One can only hope that veterans and Mr McGrain remember at election time, which party caused this imbecilic shutdown of government services. And here is a clue. One of the members of that party read Dr Seuss children's classic Green Eggs and Ham on the floor of Congress.

One day it will be active duty military pushing their way through congress and the white house to form a new govt. For better or worse, change is coming.
