Ditz43, you DO realize that Abraham Lincoln FOUNDED the GOP on the basis of outlawing Slavery?

You DO realize that the GOP supported Lyndon Johnson AGAINST the Southern Democrats in getting most of the civil rights legislation in this country??

You DO know that Al Gore SR (daddy) and Robert "KKK" Byrd were the leading Dummorats OPPOSED to civil rights legislation??

OOH, yeah, you are dumbass liberal, you know nothing unless Huff&PuffPost DailyCuss tells you so.

Little Billie: "Gee, Uncle Bob, how come the House Republicans are so hung up on slavery? I thought they passed that law already."

Uncle Bob: "They did, Billy, back a ways. The Republicans want to abolish it. There is nothing to negotiate. It is the law of the land, passed by both the House and Senate, signed into law by the President and confirmed as constitutional by the Supreme Court. It is a done deal. And it is the law, period."

I guess you're right, Fritz. Once it's the law, it's the law. You Democrits sure make a good argument. LOL

When this "CRISIS" passes, regardless of the outcome, those that think for themselves and understand will turn to their God for guidance, adapt and survive. Those sheeple that believed the LIES will be left standing and staring at the houses of government wondering what went wrong, and why they must endure more unfulfilled promises, again offering to trade their remaining freedoms for the promise that the Government in will care for them.

43 -

Who are the real traitors, those that see the indebtedness of this country as a problem that needs to be solved, or those that would selectively enforce laws (you do know that Obama is enforcing border controls laws that have been passed and signed;), issue unconstitutional executive orders to change the Affordable Care Act-"The law of the land, passed by both the House and Senate, signed into law by the President and confirmed as constitutional by the Supreme Court." to suit Barry's special interests and crony business interests?

Its a shame that Little Billie is being taught group-hate by his Uncle Bob; who has apparently chosen to listen to those that would misrepresent a group of liberty loving Americans that are concerned about personal freedoms and the indebtedness of their children and grandchildren, with the only apparent reason being that those political leaders are unwilling to stop spending money that this country (the taxpayers) have to borrow.

Uncle Bob: "Because they're idiots, Billy, idiots and haters. And a disgrace to their elected office."

There is a single group of fanatics responsible for this mess - the TPT's - that's the Tea Party Traitors.

The Tea Party members of congress are nothing less than traitors because they no longer have any respect for the rules of democracy. They are more than willing to severely damage the country by holding the nation, the budget and the economy hostage. All this because of a law, and a president they dislike intensely. It is the politics of hatred, institutionalized. And the rest of the world is embarrassed and ashamed for us.

One last point, I promise. CNBC reports that about 1% of the people that went to the signup sites actually finished applications.

ONE PERCENT!!!

In one state Blue Cross, the largest insurer there, said they did not have a single application after the first two days.

Now think. It may hurt, but try. They have had three years, and every resource of the Federal government to draw on to prepare for this first week. After all that, this is the best they can do???? I don't care how loyal you are to the Democratic Party, anyone with an IQ of 50 has to admit this is THUNDERING INCOMPETENCE!!!

And these are the people you want to be in charge of your medical care???

As more stupid stuff comes up about the shutdown, even NBC News has mentioned a lot of this is just petty spiteful actions. And the strategy of passing funding laws for specific items is actually how the budget is normally done. Of course nothing has been normal since obie took office.

Sooner or later enough Dems will realize this looks really bad, and that they want to keep their jobs after obie has left office. Joe Manchin is saner than a lot of these guys, be interesting to see how he votes.

BTW, I noticed that aside from making fun of him for Green Eggs, no one is actually quoting Cruz. Seems most of what he said made perfect sense. And I watched some talking head bit with Bill Kristol, a Dem spokesguy that wasn't over 30, and some Washington columnist girl. The question was what now? The Dem kid basically said this was really stupid of the GOP, and just kept reciting that all they had to do was send a "clean" bill to the Senate. Both the girl and Kristol pointed out at this point there is no benefit to Boehner et al to do so. They have already taken the media hit for this, might as well stick to their guns and see what happens. The kid was getting more and more upset that they weren't agreeing with him.

Dawg, Nobody is claiming their party has the exclusive on what's pure and noble. Grandstanding pols predate the Constitution.

Personally I am waiting for a vet to pull up with a welding truck and break in to the WWII memorial, with a few hundred geezers running interference with the cops. Best to do it on live television. Don't allow a pol of either party within a thousand feet, unless it's Harry. Let him try to face that crowd down. Could be really entertaining.

BTW, heard about the chunk of Florida coastal waters they are trying to blockade? They are spending more to annoy people than just leaving things alone would have cost. I propose all of that money be taken out of the obieCare budget, and his paycheck.

More important, haven't you fire-breathing lefties noticed your party has a lot of really rich members? Jobs, Buffet, Gates, Ellison, just to name the best-known? The founders of Google, Amazon, ******, and the current bosses of Geico and Progressive? All those guys on Wall Street?

I would think these would be GOP fatcats! Care to explain this?

Bud, You may recall that the spending bill sent up funded every little thing barry has put on us, except this nightmare. No other cuts anywhere. And that's not good enough.

Why corporate welfare? First, what a hardcase gang of libertarians would call corporate welfare might not seem that unreasonable to the average Joe or Jane. It includes such horrors as accelerated depreciation of energy assets. This frees up more cash for the next set of oil and gas wells. Such things keep people employed, and generate more lovely tax dollars for the guvmint to waste.

“IT’S A CHEAP WAY TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION,” AN ANGRY PARK SERVICE RANGER IN WASHINGTON SAYS OF THE HARASSMENT," dah.

When making a direct quote please include the source of the statement. Did it come from a reputable source, or was it something you read on a bathroom wall?

I did recently see a clip of a CNN news program showing an angry member of Congress berating a lady park ranger for the closure of a park facility in Washington, D.C. He was obviously playing to the news cameras. The young ranger maintained her composure and politely made the older Congressman look like a bully and a fool.

Many units of the National Park System are not directly owned by the government but are cooperatively managed under an agreement with the owners. The Park Service is charged with protecting the resource/unit in question and providing visitor services - including protection of visitor safety. When the government was shut down these services had to be interrupted.

@WVEXPAT;

From CATO, "Corporate welfare in the federal budget costs taxpayers almost $100 billion a year."

How/why do we continue to let the progessives call it "Corporate Welfare" when it's money the government took from them "under duress" in the first place!

The Park Service appears to be closing streets on mere whim and caprice. The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination.

That was after they barred the new World War II Memorial on the Mall to veterans of World War II. But the government does not own Mount Vernon; it is privately owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. The ladies bought it years ago to preserve it as a national memorial. The feds closed access to the parking lots this week, even though the lots are jointly owned with the Mount Vernon ladies. The rangers are from the government, and they’re only here to help.

“IT’S A CHEAP WAY TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION,” AN ANGRY PARK SERVICE RANGER IN WASHINGTON SAYS OF THE HARASSMENT. “WE’VE BEEN TOLD TO MAKE LIFE AS DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE AS WE CAN. IT’S DISGUSTING.”

Obama is petty little bast**d just like Goofman, Clueless, and the rest of the sycophants here.

{sarcasm} Not to worry, CBS reports that we will be unable to pay the 30 billion interest on Treasury Notes unless the Debt Ceiling is raised before they become due Nov. 15, 2013. {pause s} Does that mean that we need to borrow the money to pay the INTEREST on our debt? Are we paying anything to retire the debt?

In the real (private) world if you have to borrow money to pay interest on existing debt you would need to obtain protection under Chapter 11 to prevent foreclosure by your creditors.

{resume s} Good thing we are only playing with Monopoly money, not people's livelihoods. {end s}
