The National Transportation Safety Board wasn't sending investigators to Tennessee to probe a deadly church bus crash that killed eight people and sent 14 others to the hospital.?

I can save them a lot of money. The bus had a WRECK, duh!WTF do they need to send out a Federal TEAM for a million bucks to investigate traffic accidents??

Will the debt ceiling be raised? Of course it will. There is no actual political not to, but of course the dems will try to blame the repubs in the process. Obama: "We are not some Banana Republic that does not pay it's bills" Well, yes we are becoming a Banana Republic. Borrowing more money to make interest payments while paying interest on the money you borrow from the bank the Govt. installed to be in charge of the money is by very definition a Banana Republic. Massive inflation is coming to a grocery store near you. This should be much more of a worry than shutting down the Govt.

Cue daMorons... Good bye Teapublicans. You'll be banished back to Idaho. America can't survive Tea Party politics. When you lose an important election, you move on in a positive manner. You don't commit Harikiri. I'm so tired of listening to the small minority of morons responsible for this mess.

Cough Cough Coughy is suffering from "Wraith Derangement Syndrome" (WDS), a close cousin to Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) wherein simpletons with low IQ's need to focus on a single person inside of more complex situations to explain their miserable existence.

Hitler was the master of infecting the German populace with his Jew Jew Jew blame game.

Why is there no mention of cutting corporate welfare? Hundreds of billions of our tax dollars go to profitable corporations every year, five times more than what goes to the citizens of America. This cry of debt from the tea publicans is total BS. Don't be fooled by the fraud coming out of the extremists mouths.

" A group of Senate Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), railed against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at a private luncheon on Wednesday" The clash shows some Republican senators have lost patience with Cruz, who has failed to reveal a strategy to win his goal of defunding Obamacare.

“It was very evident to everyone in the room that Cruz doesn’t have a strategy -– he never had a strategy, and could never answer a question about what the end-game was,” one senator told Politico. “I just wish the 35 House members that have bought the snake oil that was sold could witness what was witnessed today at lunch.”

Conservatives outside the Senate have taken swings at Cruz as well. Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, said Cruz "pushed House Republicans into traffic and wandered away." Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) accused the "Ted Cruz wing" of trying to "hijack" the Republican Party.

Reaching the debt ceiling does not mean that the government will default on the outstanding government debt. In fact, the U.S. Constitution forbids defaulting on the debt (14th Amendment, Section 4), so the government is not allowed to default even if it wanted to.

In reality, if the debt ceiling is not raised in the next two weeks, the government will actually have to prioritize its expenses and keep its monthly, weekly, and daily spending under the revenue the government collects. In simple terms, the government would have to spend an amount less than or equal to what it earns. Just like ordinary Americans have to do in their everyday lives.

FROM POLITICO: By JAKE SHERMAN and JOHN BRESNAHAN | 10/4/13 10:49 AM EDT

"House Republicans huddled in the Capitol basement, discussing strategy on the government shutdown. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) opened up the meeting by reading a stack of letters from children attending the Sacred Heart school on how to deal with the political situation in Washington."

The GOP searching for some kind of strategy (because their Tea Party faction never had one) has taken to asking SCHOOL CHILDREN for answers!!! WOW JUST WOW!!!

The debt ceiling was actually reached about 4 months ago! The goberment has been paying the bills with military and civilian G-fund retirement savings! The "spending" must go on.....

Boehner said he will not let the country go into default. Republicans in the senate are blasting Cruz for starting a fight with no strategy. The House has enough votes right now to pass the senate's clean bill. Why should the President negotiate? He's on the verge of total victory!

@hoopie,

"Hundreds of billions of our tax dollars go to profitable corporations every year, five times more than what goes to the citizens of America."

From CATO, "Corporate welfare in the federal budget costs taxpayers almost $100 billion a year."

From THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013, HISTORICAL TABLES - Table 3.2—OUTLAYS BY FUNCTION AND SUBFUNCTION: 1962–2017

Spending on "citizens" is over $559 Billion a year!

So I'm not sure what spending numbers you may be using. Now if you add in Obama's $85 billion QE giveaway to Wall St then you may be right. Why would Obama spend 5 times more on big corporations than American citizens??

{sarcasm} Not to worry, CBS reports that we will be unable to pay the 30 billion interest on Treasury Notes unless the Debt Ceiling is raised before they become due Nov. 15, 2013. {pause s} Does that mean that we need to borrow the money to pay the INTEREST on our debt? Are we paying anything to retire the debt?

In the real (private) world if you have to borrow money to pay interest on existing debt you would need to obtain protection under Chapter 11 to prevent foreclosure by your creditors.

{resume s} Good thing we are only playing with Monopoly money, not people's livelihoods. {end s}

The Park Service appears to be closing streets on mere whim and caprice. The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination.

That was after they barred the new World War II Memorial on the Mall to veterans of World War II. But the government does not own Mount Vernon; it is privately owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. The ladies bought it years ago to preserve it as a national memorial. The feds closed access to the parking lots this week, even though the lots are jointly owned with the Mount Vernon ladies. The rangers are from the government, and they’re only here to help.

“IT’S A CHEAP WAY TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION,” AN ANGRY PARK SERVICE RANGER IN WASHINGTON SAYS OF THE HARASSMENT. “WE’VE BEEN TOLD TO MAKE LIFE AS DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE AS WE CAN. IT’S DISGUSTING.”

Obama is petty little bast**d just like Goofman, Clueless, and the rest of the sycophants here.
