Well ! People fake their illness to get disability money. Why not add to it by bringing a dog along to advertise it?

Those "Indian" carpets were actually fakes made in Malaysia, so that dog was doing a service.

acousticportal - so grateful that you don't have to deal with a disability that can be assisted by a service animal. These animals are highly trained and a tremendous asset to our community. On the other hand when you have a fake service animal, like we did, here in a local Wheeling business, that was unruly, undisciplined and insulting to our other patrons it makes for a bad situation all around. I found the article enlightening for those of our community who, a. don't have personal experience trying to cope with a disability, b. those in businesses who don't know what their rights and responsibilites are, and c. the general public who may have been oblivious to a growing and frustrating problem. No article that educates the public is ever stupid, sorry that you thought so.
