While I am a lifelong Dem, I cannot help but marvel at people who just, like a pull string doll, blurt out that is the GOP blah blah. In fact, the House did send a budget to the Senate two months ago that had everything in it but the near trillion for Obamacare. How to pay for Obamacare is a valid point and to discuss it is sort of what democratic gov is about. But the SENATE nixed the budget and the President is the person who has been deciding to close parks and not pay safety forces, etc. All of those things are in the budget that has been sitting there for two months. It is Obama who chooses, like a banana republic dictator to refuse to compromise or even discuss. He wants it his way or we all get to suffer. In the Senate, the budget the rejection vote was only a four vote margin. So its four party first Dems (including Rockefeller) who are holding the country hostage and weening out services and shutting down services like spoiled children. Not many have paid attention.

Clueless; Although you may have some justification in declaring the Demo-Lite party (aka McCain Republicans) as near death, as long as there is the US remains a representative form of government, the conservative voice will be heard, saving the minion sheeple from the left-wing liberals buying their votes to further their control.

full shutdown is what we need.just shutting down what affects the commoners won't accomplish anything.this could drag out this way forever.now when the truck drivers decide to shut down this country then we'll get some action out of these political dimwits.shut everything down and quit paying taxes.these people can't even do politicians work let alone a real job.leave them hanging.

The Layoffs just keep on coming:

"Hospitals, a reliable source of employment growth in the recession and its aftermath, are starting to cut thousands of jobs amid falling insurance payments and inpatient visits.

The payroll cuts are surprising because the Affordable Care Act (ACA), whose implementation took a big step forward this month, is eventually expected to provide health coverage to as many as 30 million additional Americans.

Health care providers announced more layoffs than any other industry last month — 8,128 — largely because of reductions by hospitals, according to outplacement firm Challenger Gray and Christmas. So far this year, the health care sector has announced 41,085 layoffs, the third-most behind financial and industrial companies. "

As a lifelong Independent I can only hope that Ted Cruze and the rest of the teabaggers continue to tank the Repubs, who are too weak to stand up to the teabaggers.

It was good to see Ted Cruze ally himself with the other bimbo looser $arah Failin over the weekend at a rally originally intended for vets, but hijacked by teabaggers to exploiting the vets. I thought the teabagger holding the Marine Corps flag and Confederate flag in front of the White House was a good touch. Didnt the US Marines fight for the North?

When will the Repub party denounce the bizarre hate speech by Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch, a conservative political advocacy group, who at the rally that the country is "ruled by a president who bows down to Allah," and "is not a president of 'we the people.'"

Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch-"I call upon all of you to wage a second American nonviolent revolution, to use civil disobedience, and to demand that this president leave town, to get up, to put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come up with his hands out," he said.

Pathetic clueless domestic terrorist.

"Apparently, the original organizers of the veterans’ march are displeased with the Tea Party’s co-opting of their protest. On the Million Vet March homepage, the organizers suggest a local organizer invited Tea Party and birther groups against the wishes of the veterans:

The political agenda put forth by a local organizer in Washington DC was not in alignment with our message. We feel disheartened that some would seek to hijack the narrative for political gain. The core principle is about all Americans honoring Veterans in a peaceful and apolitical manner.

The organizers say they are simply calling for war memorials to stay open at all times and disowned the “disheartening acts of a few powerful Washington elite and political extremists jumping on the opportunity to make money.”

Gooseman, you are not even close to being considered an Independent. Only Reid and Pelosi seem to be more 'left' then you. I was a Dem, now an Ind. and not a huge fan of the Tea Party, but I clearly see their love for America and support to a degree many of their ideals. Spending needs to be cut and cut deep, we need a 'Super Sequestration' next year to achieve this.

FEMA does not issue loans they GIVE your money to cities, counties and states that are also insured against damages (Tax payers pay insurance premiums and then tax payers give money to bail-out the insurance companies, via FEMA) The SBA does do some low interest disaster loans.

When the die-hard Democrat base finally got their Obamacare WTF wake up call, too many of those posers suddenly lost their "love" for the working poor, and started biatching about how much Obamacare will gouge them personally. When that pinged on the public radar, the Obama administration put the glitchybrakes on the rollout. We won't see any progress on Obamacare implementation until after the 2014 elections. Can't have anyone finding out any more about what's in it.

The shut-down and debt ceiling fear mongering is nothing but a Democrat-manufactured opportunity for blame-throwing. Mr. President, accept the one-year Obamacare delay, pay the interest on the debt, get people back to work. Then be a leader and negotiate.

Frustrated and angry Dems, the Tea Party is not going away. Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS, NSA, etc. Obamascandals, not going away either. Since the Choomer-in-Chief is running out of shutdown smokescreen, I can only wonder, what manufactured crisis comes

Goosegirl is an internet tough girl. Goosegirl uses the term "teabagger" to attempt a pathetic, childish insult directed towards people with whom she/he/it disagrees.

In short, Goosegirl is a liberal. Full of "tolerance" towards like-minded sheeple. Hate filled, arrogant, childish, shrill babies when they don't get their way.

Goosegirl-put your pacifier back in and demand that Mr. Moochelle Have you Seen What's In My Pocket Obama tell her husband to demand that the Senate give the House budget proposal an up/down vote.

Liberals understand up/down, thanks to Bill Clinton. Well, it depends on what your definition of up is.

The Affordable Care Act is a latter day manifestation of the good conscience that drove Medicare. History will treat this legislation with the admiration and respect it deserves.
