Why not diesel for cars? Half the cars sold in Germany use diesel. Diesel costs half as much as gas to produce. Diesel burns clean, runs a car relatively quiet and is very efficient.

Many of the current diesel model cars get 40 mpg or better and are cheaper than many hybrids, but with far superior horsepower.

the gas is being exported in case you haven't been paying attention.this will keep the prices from coming down for either gasoline and natural gas.this boom won't benefit any of us.

Diesel is superior, in many ways, to gasoline though diesel often requires more routine maintenance But the engines runs much longer. CNG is a clean burning fuel that does not require radical changes in the current engines. So as we move away from foreign energy that decimates the environment, who is opposing that move? Environmentalists. People who feel superior by being against things eventually just become against things even if it was what they were FOR not that long ago. EPA estimate that if all public transportation, cabs, public and school buses were changed to CNG, the US could see a near 30% improvement in air quality in one year. Shutting down all coal energy does not net that over ten years. And the US has gas in abundance which helps to pay taxes for all of the programs that we must have for the 51% who just can't find a job (on the couch). Politics of protest are really about the protest process, not the issue.
