Diotima -- Have you ever considered military service?? Probably not. Why use your education to pay back the country that afforded it to you.

Unedited, what a rant! Picture the puffy beet-red face, the bulging bloodshot eyeballs, the tear-streaked smeared mascara, the stringy globs of spittle flying in all directions... Goosy is pure comedy gold. LOL

Goosy is consistently entertaining, anyway.

“...hoping America fails, hating the US President, predicting the end of the country, copying all the misinformation I heard on fauxnews,24X7,to an small town teabagger newspaper website, printing the same proven lies over and over and over and over, criticizing anyone with a different opinion than mine with pre-school remarks, taking no responsibility for anything, making fun of the poor, sick, people in need and people of color and had several screen names and lie about where I lived in order to hide who I really am, then I would ask someone to shoot me, as I would have sank to such a lowly existence, knowing people are laughing AT me daily and that would be the lowest of any existence I could think of. Did I get it all in duhhhhhhRAT a.k.a. Troll? Let it all out. You still have 14 hours today to live on this board, posting useless dribble...”

"printing the same proven lies over and over"

Your fond of calling folks liars, but you never present any facts to back your accusations. Empty rhetoric, baseless talking points! At least you're consistent!

Diotima, yes, takers come in all ages. But what job-creating government policies do people your age support? Most of them vote for liberal politicians because they get their information from limited, biased sources, and because SNL tells them it ain't too cool to be a conservative or a Republican. Every person who continues to vote for liberal politicians who favor taxing and regulating businesses to death contributes to the unemployment problem.

The US economy is going through major structural changes. We will probably never see employment numbers like we did in the past. The reason is that we have evolved, through the use of technology. In the past, the move from an Agrarian society to an Industrial one was acceptable, because there were more jobs than there were people.

Today, through a combination of outsourcing (partially) and efficiency (mostly), the job market has dried up.

The Social Democrat Party has done nothing to create jobs yet, they want to legalize 35 million illegal criminal scum? These people may not take your job directly but they will hurt you indirectly by driving displaced workers to try and take YOUR job and driving down wage rates for all.

If you do not oppose illegal immigration and excessive taxation, you do not support our economy.

diotima, You likely fell for that old college trick of them telling you to keep on getting that education and you will be employed for life! How much did all that education cost you? My guess is your ROI is along time in your future.

I'm of the baby boomers and might even be fighting for a position with you in the future! BS/BA/MA and 30 years of work experience! I did the BS first and then worked on the BA/MA while I was working. Don't underestimate your competition! Good luck to you.

Popeye, from Drudge:

"Marc Faber, publisher of The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, told CNBC on Monday that investors are asking the wrong question about when the Federal Reserve will taper its massive bond-buying program. They should be asking when the central bank will be increasing it, he argued. "The question is not tapering. The question is at what point will they increase the asset purchases to say $150 [billion] , $200 [billion], a trillion dollars a month," Faber said in a " Squawk Box " interview."

This is a very intimate topic. A topic where I'm sandbagged-by-proxy. I’m in this age group, well my somewhat late twenties. I spent almost 7 years in college and earned a BA and MA. The economy collapsed while I was in graduate school. The hiring situation has been further exacerbated political instability in Washington.

I cannot find work. I have no criminal record nor do I use drugs. I live at home with my parents doing odd jobs. The job market is cratered for entry levels positions of all kinds. I am in competition for entry level work with people in their 40s or 50s that have been downsized or furloughed. Sure, I’m more educated than them, but I lack the on the job training.

There are deadbeats in my generation – but look at your own! There are certainly deadbeat baby boomers too. But like older generations, mine is filled with people that want work as well. Just remember that next time you’re considering a "kids these days” sort of argument.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. The true unemployment rate is 24%. How long can Uncle Ben keep propping up the economy before it goes poof!

6 million of these young adults are not attending school or working!

What is cynical about that fact?

Are they "really" working or attending school and we don't know it?
