Weirdly, the people complaining about the healthcare website not working after three weeks were quiet about the Iraq war not working after eight years. - Andy Borowitz

Didn't know the country was in worst shape, Didn't know about IRS, Didn't know about NSA, Didn't know about Fast and Furious, Didn't know about Benghazi, Didn't know about healthcare website not being up to par. Personally I don't care who a person blames things on. I JUST WANT MY LEADERS TO "KNOW" ABOUT SOMETHING BEFORE I DO AND MAKE IT BETTER.

People should go look at how the Medicare Part D was rolled out in 2005 before you act maliciously and politically about Obamacares. Don't expect the NR to give you those facts. They are still in "preventing Obama from getting a third term" mode.

Health-insurance shoppers will be able to use HealthCare.gov, the balky federal portal for Obamacare coverage, in time to have insurance by the beginning of 2014, a federal official and the project's lead contractor said Thursday.

"We are confident that consumers will be able to apply and enroll, certainly by Dec. 15, for that first coverage that begins in January and then through the full duration of the open enrollment period," Bataille said during a conference call with reporters. Cheryl Campbell, an executive with CGI Federal, the main contractor behind HealthCare.gov, gave similar assurances during a congressional oversight hearing earlier in the day.

Digital Pathways:

The exact cost to build Healthcare.gov, according to U.S. government records, appears to have been $634,320,919, which we paid to a company you probably never heard of: CGI Federal. The company originally won the contract back in 2011, but at that time, the cost was expected to run “up to” $93.7 million – still a chunk of change, but nothing near where it apparently ended up.

Given the complicated nature of federal contracts, it’s difficult to make a direct comparison between the cost to develop Healthcare.gov and the amount of money spent building private online businesses. But for the sake of putting the monstrous amount of money into perspective, here are a few figures to chew on: Facebook, which received its first investment in June 2004, operated for a full six years before surpassing the $600 million mark in June 2010. Twitter, created in 2006, managed to get by with only $360.17 million in total funding until a $400 million boost in 2011.

"Instagram ginned up just $57.5 million in funding before Facebook bought it for (a staggering) $1 billion last year. And LinkedIn and Spotify, meanwhile, have only raised, respectively, $200 million and $288 million.

Government has a long history of spending money unnecessarily. But in an age when the U.S is home to the world’s largest, most successful Internet companies, how is it possible that we can’t even manage to build a functional website without blowing through hundreds of millions of dollars?"

GOVERNMENT: EPIC FAIL!

The original contract is increased X 6! I got new for the peeps, if you bothered to follow the federal contracting world this X6 is the norm not the exception!

When it's not your money!!

If we had a semi-honest system of contracting we could continue with the services we have and not have deficit spending in 3-5 years!

Why is anyone surprised (including the president) that something like this would happen? Everything about this bill was rammed, force fed, and half a**ed.

I wouldn't expect anything less. This is going to get sooooo much worse.

So Goosey - do you ever have a CHOICE in your health insurance? As in, let me compare coverage vs. cost between say, BC/BS and HealthPlan? Then you get to decide which you want? Hmmm. So why can't we do the same with this? NO - we have to get the fake promise of a subsidy beforehand, that makes the poison go down smoother - THEN you get the quote. What an ass-backward system our Govt. has designed.

Another misleading headline from the creeps at the NR. Benghazi, IRS, NSA, computer clitches, all this stuff is unimportant, unless the republicant's think they can use it against the President. It's a wonder that Washington can accomplich anything with this constant right wing useless chatter, which is designed to do nothing more than discredit the administration.

How DARE you challenge me, putz, you KNOW what is going to happen NEXT.

"What's your source for this one duwhop? Fauzsnooze? Limpy? Beck?"

NO, the WHITE HOUSE!

"The White House communications team had three weeks to find 10-15 people who’ve actually enrolled in O-Care via Healthcare . gov to serve as human props for an Obama press conference on this subject. Three weeks. And yet, according to the WH’s own mini-biographies of the people invited to the Rose Garden today, just … three have successfully registered so far. Last week, Bob Laszewski estimated that no more than 20,000 people had managed to enroll in the site’s first 14 days or so online. If the White House had this much trouble finding a dozen or so for one of O’s biggest photo ops this year, I’ve got to wonder if the real number’s significantly less than that."

I'm so glad our President didn't know about the problems with the web site, I'd hate to see him blamed like Benghazi, NSA, IRS, Fast & Furious, James Rosen and on and on and on.

I have a question and please give an honest answer. To Goose and BushCrimeFamily. Do you or did you ever believe that a persons Health Care Preminum would drop as much as $2500 a year as said by Obama? Keep your Doctor, keep your Plan, pay for itself and not add a cent to the US deficit?
