Miners Can Be Optimistic

October 29, 2013

Robert Murray is a shrewd, successful businessman. But his own warnings of gloom and doom for the coal industry would seem to be an excellent argument against what he did Monday. Murray Energy Corp....

You may not like the man but you have to give him credit for what he has accomplished. He started with one mine in 1988, now he's the nations largest producer of longwall mined coal and also one of the largest mining companies in the U.S.

cal, the war on coal is a war on coal-USERS, not the coal mining companies directly. Until Obama is able to stop exports, Barry Bankrupter's war is specifically a war on AMERICAN coal-users. Remember who specifically it was that Obama threatened: “If somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them...” That’s the coal USERS who Barry plans to bankrupt.

Murray knows coal exports are GROWING, and coal use OVERSEAS is BOOMING. He’s not as dumb as you... think. LOL

This is hilarious. Murray has been telling Myer for years about how the Obama adfministration is destroying the coal industry. SAo then, this shrew investor turne around and inversts all this money in a dying industry? Suuuuure! This story effectively demonstrates that the war on coal is a lie!

Clueless, is demand for buggy whips increasing in China, Japan, Europe, and everywhere else in the world EXCEPT the USA, as it is for coal?

No? Well, no worries, because Barry Bankrupter is WAAAAAAAY smarter than coal magnate Murray AND all those fuzzy foreigners...

And at least he's not blaming Bush...

YOU SHOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT MURRAY!

Murray will likely be selling coal to Germany and China mined for the most part by non-union miners.

Very thoughtful realistic piece by the NR.

Murray is probably doing this with borrowed money. The lenders have the risk.

If there was a future, Consol would not have sold. Why would they?
