October 30, 2013

President Barack Obama and liberals in Congress like to brag about how much they have done for poor Americans. Ohioans have good cause to be disgusted by such talk....

"The Labor Market Index, which is comprised of six key labor market variables, suggests that the labor market is in a weak recovery phase."

From the weekly report of Jeff Morgan, Senior VP at Wells Fargo Bank, a man that is paid a lot of money because he can interpret the gobbledegook coming out of Washington and make sense of it for planning bank strategy. They don't promote people to such positions because they speak well, like our president, or because they look erudite, like our president pretends to be. He has this job because he is right about things most of the time.

Note, he is describing the economy after FIVE YEARS of the Obama-Reid regime. Where's that hope and change getting us???

OSM corrct. Last month job reports was 148,000 new jobs and 516,000 LEFT THE LABOR FORCE!!!

Over 90 million Americans NOT WORKING, the highest number in recorded history.

A person getting a new 40 hour per week job with good benefits is about as rare as a Big Foot sighting in Wheeling!

To follow on Wraith's note, a recent week showed 120,000 new jobs. Buried in the story was the point that 80,000 were part-time.

50,000 new full time jobs does not even keep up with the kids finishing high school, let alone show growth.

We have no hope, and they are keeping the change.

And as for the whining about the billions in profit by corporate America? Can't see it in the figures. 2005, coming out of a serious recession and starting a war, 271 billion corporate tax collected. 2012, after four years, just like old George, 242 billion collected. But remember, we have had at least 10% inflation, so the adjusted figure is 218 billion.

So after almost five years of the benefits of Barry's leadership, with Harry and Nancy streamlining his first two years, we see 20% LESS real revenue to the Treasury than seven years before. Oh, BTW, federal spending increased in real dollars by 800 billion in the same time period.

How's that hope and change working for you?

Notice when Nuisanceman is not plagiarizing the HuffPo his prose is at a retarded 3rd grader. Pulling statistics out of your feathered rear is a dangerous thing, birdbrain. Snort some of these statistics from the US Government Bureau of Labor Statistics:

Labor Participation rate on Dec, 2008: 65.8%

Labor Participation rate on Aug 2013: 63.2%

That is a more telling figure today than unemployment since long term UE's are NOT COUNTED even they amount to some 10 million! Smaller percentage of Americans working than any time in the last 40 years.

More FACTS: Seasonally adjusted total employment;

Jan 2001 137,778,000 (Bush enters)

Nov 2007 146,595,000 Bush Peak

Jan 2008 146,378,000 Bush last year start

Dec 2008 143,369,000 Bush last year end

Sept 2013 144,303,000 Present

Bush Peak jobs: 8,757,000

Bush Net Jobs : 2,438,200

Bush Jobs Lost 2008: 3,006,000

Bush Stimulus: Zero

Obama Stimulus: $1,300,000,000,000

Birdie, Truthy, I have some numbers it's impossible to argue with, because they come from your saviors, the Federal Government. Specifically, the Treasury. Data from their website show in the five years of the current regime, the amount of personal income tax collected has finally reached the same levels as 2007.

Except it hasn't, since there has been about 9% inflation since then. So four years of Obama policies, stimulus programs and endless cheerleading, we are collectively making about 10% LESS than we were half a decade ago. And that ignores the adult population has grown by several million, so per capita tax collections in true dollars is MORE than 10% less.

How's that hope and change working for you???

.... cont

There is no reason to believe that any of the production workers in the industry that become unemployed will be rehired into compliance occupations. In summary, within the regulated industry:

Productivity is reduced as more resources are used to produce less output. Some of these resources may be labor resources.

Industry prices rise and production is lowered in the industry. Unemployment is created as employment of production workers declines."

While it can certainly be argued that Obama's policies have been particularly burdensome, I believe it is big govt in general that has led us to this point.

And while Obamacare certainly gets some blame for suppressing job creation, I believe the tsunami of federal regulation over the last couple decades has had a huge effect on job creation.

From a George Mason Univ study, "The employment impact of a regulatory change that raises the cost of production in an industry is basic economics. Higher production costs from a regulatory change lower productivity in the regulated industry. This raises market prices, and the higher prices lower demand. Lower production means lower demand for labor, and production workers become unemployed.

Production is lowered by more if substitute products exist, particularly if they are imported goods and services. If additional labor is hired as a result of compliance efforts, this raises the economic cost of the regulation as labor is pulled from other uses in the economy.

I also why liberals rarely mention the trillions given to Wall Street/Big Banks by the current administration. Quantitative easing has essentially given the largest financial entities around $4 trillion thru bond purchases and other asset purchases. One of the purposes of the numerous QE's was job creation. It has NOT worked, yet the Fed continues "printing" $85 billion a month for Wall Street.

Obama's policies have increased income inequality yet I don't recall Hoopie mentioning anything about QE.

"most have slim profit margins: Walmart and Target earn between three and four cents on the dollar; a typical McDonald’s franchise restaurant earns around six cents on the dollar before taxes, according to an analysis from Janney Capital Markets. In fact, the combined profits of all the major retailers, restaurant chains, and supermarkets in the Fortune 500 are smaller than the profits of Apple alone." (New Yorker)

Liberals, why no mention of Apple in your tirades?

Why are liberal “Progressives” so afraid of statistics? Come on, cal. They’re only data. Facts. Inconvenient truths. Excruciatingly embarrassing evidence.

48 MILLION Americans on Obama Food Stamps, 21 MILLION Obamanomics-jobless Americans, 17 MILLION Americans LOSING their health insurance policies because of Obamascam... They don’t need statistics. They don’t need facts. They don’t need truth. What they need is...

... more Hope and Change. mmm mmm mmm...

Statistic: Number of Americans on Food Stamps after FIVE YEARS of Obamanomics, INCLUDING two full years of Democrit Presidency, Democrit, House, Democrit Senate – a RECORD 48 MILLION AMERICANS surviving on Food Stamps.

Statistic: REAL jobless rate after FIVE YEARS of Obamanomics, INCLUDING two full years of Democrit Presidency, Democrit, House, Democrit Senate – 15%. MILLIONS of Americans STILL jobless.

Statistic: National Debt after FIVE YEARS of Obamanomics, INCLUDING two full years of Democrit Presidency, Democrit, House, Democrit Senate – $17 TRILLION. UP by over 6 TRILLION, dumped by liberal “progressives” onto our children and grandchildren to repay.

Hoopie-Goosy thought process – STILL Bush’s fault.

Corporate America sees nothing wrong with paying low wages while earning billions in profit. Corporate America shifts the costs of their employees onto the taxpayers by not providing a living wage job or adequate health care. The working poor in America dwarfs the unemployment numbers. Wal Mart makes billions in profit yet their workers are paid very low wages. The cost shift to taxpayers is equal to $900,000 a year PER STORE. Why is this allowed? Why is corporate America so irresponsible?

While I don't dispute the statistics concerning the state of economic affairs in Ohio, I find it particularly interesting that the NR/Lack of Intel blame Obama and the liberals of the world to have been the cause of the problem. Got any facts or studies to back that up Mike? No. Probably not. This rag blames everything on the Pres. from hurricanes in the mid-west to famine in Bangladesh. The paper's editors' hate for the President has completely clouded any judgment they may have ever had and renders their editorials feckless and disingenuous.
