idliketoknow, What business is it of two federal politicians when a buyer and seller agree to a sale? Not as if it's the Chinese buying Consol!

If your boys were so interested in the "peeps" as you claim, email them and tell them that Southern WV has been losing coal jobs at a record pace!

Or tell them to stay in DC and take care of the "people's" business.....

Murray should tell Trust Fund Jay and Transcript Manchin to*****up a flagpole.

He should blow them off and make fools of them-two clueless DC politicians trying to throw their weight around and show the little people that they are looking out for YOU.

Murray should PUBLICLY refuse to meet with these fools until they PUBLICLY swear an oath to fight for coal jobs.

dyingov, I have no problem with an elected official representing the peoples best interest for once, do you? Unless you believe there is some ulterior motive, in which case, you clearly know more about the future meeting than I do.

CHECK WHAT THEY HAVE DONE!

Marshall County House of Delegate members adopt Obama's HOPE & CHANGE to protect mine workers' from Mr. Murray's "right to work" abysmal safety record.

Glad you agree with the need for the meeting! Does the federal and state goberment have departments for mining safety? Did Murray ask the goberment for any funding to purchase the mines? Do the US Senators have any PRESSING issues in DC?

nobama, agreed. The culture of safety Consol has instilled in these mines needs to be continued. I approve of the meeting, I think it's just silly to put the kart before the horse. Which department if you don't mind me asking?

Again all you have to do is go to MSHA.gov..then data retrieval..type in Ohio Valley Coal and American Energy Corp and you'll see the shameful safety records of Murray Energy 64 lost time accidents and 500+ citations at #6 in 2012..headed at the same pace in 2013. With nearly 40 years in mining MEC was the worst I've seen. Then search Consol Energy and compare and see what a Company with true safety concerns records look like. And by the way I'm not a union man touting safety ....I was management

Just a hint, did Joe go over to the families to break the news? Did Joe let them sit for hours as they were celebrating the miracle they thought had occurred? No, Joe was trying to escape the media but could not since the roads were clogged with onlookers and it was too stormy to get his helicopter in. Go ask your company. Ha

I'm just in the know. Maybe someone in your company can show you where the mine is at.

"The families at Sago wanted to string ole' Joe up because after he knew the truth that their family members were dead he let them think they had survived for several hours. In fact, the coward Joe tried to flee the scene."

While your at it, why don't you supply us with the source of this "opinion based on knowledge".

"Wrong again idliketoknow"

When was I wrong the first time, If ever Blackrock? That's awfully arrogant of you. And considering my employer, yeah, I'd say my opinion is primarily based in actual knowledge. How about yours?

J.D. Rockefailure IV and Mojo Manchin support Obama's war on coal. When will UMW members realize the Democrat party, as exemplified by these two losers, is working against them?

Wrong again idliketoknow. The families at Sago wanted to string ole' Joe up because after he knew the truth that their family members were dead he let them think they had survived for several hours. In fact, the coward Joe tried to flee the scene. The owner of the company broke the news to the families, not grandstanding Joe. And down south isn't Clarksburg/Elkins. Do you ever have an opinion based on actual knowledge?

If I worked at one of the mines being bought by Murray, I would be concerned. Murray just swallowed $2.4 billion in pension liabilities. Many of the area miners are quite close to retiring and have a lifetime invested into their pension plan and they will expect full compensation. The Senators need to be sure that Murray is going to live up to the responsibilities he just took upon himself. Remember, if Murray goes bankrupt, it is the taxpayers who pay the bill, not the disolved company or the billionaire walking away with a smile on their face.....

A couple of bullies wanting a closed door meeting to tell Murray that he best pay heed what they want or else they will use the "power" of their positions to make his life miserable.

HAD ENOUGH?

Why don't our U.S. Senators take the advice and action of our Marshall County House of Delegate members WHO ARE SIMPLY RELYING UPON HOPE? Or perhaps take the position of Marshall County Commissioner, SHAMBAUGH who is relying upon his "great relationship" with Consol. This is the same SCAMBAUGH who promised the jobless Tele Tech employees that his "great relationship" with the natural gas industry would enable him to secure them future employment.
