Without money provided through so-called “special” property tax levies in Brooke and Hancock counties, public schools there would have to make severe cuts in the quality of programs....

Wrong, again, NR! Voters, take a good look at what you're paying for. Don't make the same mistake that was made in Marshall County. The waste that was packed into our levy was outrageous, but the Board got it passed by removing it from the general election ballot and holding a special election, when the turnout from the general public was much lower. The result was teachers and administrators getting a lot of pork that was unnecessary.

This "newspaper" is a joke!

I wonder if this newspaper ever researches an issue prior to writing a favorable editorial; if they did we certainly would'nt be reading the garbage showing up today. Just take a look at school bus drivers, what once was a part-time job has evolved into a full time (pay wise, not work hours) position with full time perks. Is a Master Degree really necessary for teaching?

use your gas company money or was it spent on the football field?these levies have nothing to do with the kids or they wouldn't be having to repeat high school courses when they enter college.why would we give you more when you all have never learned to budget?it's a shame that the administrators can't afford their own cars.
