November 15, 2013

Mention “renewable energy” and many normally skeptical Americans begin taking the government’s word for the allegedly undiluted benefits of fuels such as ethanol....

As I recall, braintransplant, I first saw gasohol being sold under the reign of Jimmeh Carter. We were told at the time it would actually improve mileage and be good for the engines. Pickups then were still made without cat converters, and old-style engines. Didn't work very well in my old F150.

How can you tell a lib pol is lying? His lips are moving.

Hoop, ever hear of the Law of Diminishing Returns? If you have something you want to remove from the environment, it takes some amount of money to reduce it by 90%. Let's say you want to reduce that by 90% as well, down to 1%. In almost all cases it will cost as much to do that as the first 90%.

The real question is how much is enough. Remember, people lived into their 70s in Steubenville and Pittsburgh back in the 70s, when pollution was MUCH worse.

The first two versions of the Clean Air and Water acts made sense. The later ones are rules for the sake of rules.

Yes, those darned liberals think the air and water should be clean. Conservatives don't care about filth in our air and water. Business and money are far more important than the cancer rates in the OV. Money over people, profit for the 1% is way more important than birth defects of our children. Conservatives care about money over health. Liberals want clean air and water for all. We should be questioning why conservatives think it is OK to pollute our earth over what is health for the people.
