Look Objectively At Climate Change

November 29, 2013

Two scientific studies that nearly crossed paths on the way to publication by the National Academy of Sciences raise serious questions about climate change — and the liberal knee-jerk reaction that......

2. This just in. FACT: The US as a whole just experienced the COLDEST November since 1996. Departure from the standard NOAA Climo average = -1.008 deg C

@leftwing. Actually, it wouldn't be a "leap of Faith" for me at all. I own a vacation home in Ormond Beach for the past fifteen years. (Nascar and Bike Week fan.) I can tell you may have watched that Al Gore movie, An Inconvenient Truth" and fell for it hook, line, and sinker. I can also tell you that the ocean has not rised in that area. It's not a concern for me or any of the residents I know in that area.

Think about it leftwing, if it was true, don't you think the Dutch would be freaking out by now? A good portion of the Netherlands is below sealevel now!

Don't

But dazzle us with your scientific brilliance there, leftwing: If 100% of the Arctic Ice melted and 100% of Icebergs, and glaciers currently in the water magically MELTED tomorrow, How much would the oceans rise then _______________?

Tick Tock Tick Tock: If you have to think about, you are science challenged.

But feel free to use your lifelines....

leftwing, no problem:

"By Maxim Lott

Is climate change raising sea levels, as Al Gore has argued -- or are climate scientists doctoring the data?

The University of Colorado’s Sea Level Research Group decided in May to add 0.3 millimeters -- or about the thickness of a fingernail -- every year to its actual measurements of sea levels, sparking criticism from experts who called it an attempt to exaggerate the effects of global warming.

"Gatekeepers of our sea level data are manufacturing a fictitious sea level rise that is not occurring," said James M. Taylor, a lawyer who focuses on environmental issues for the Heartland Institute.

Steve Nerem, the director of the widely relied-upon research center, told FoxNews**** that his group added the 0.3 millimeters per year to the actual sea level measurements because land masses, still rebounding from the ice age, are rising and increasing the amount of water that oceans can hold.

troll: I agree. And it would be up there with the 100,000,000 or so spent by the Feds to make Downtown a Theme Park under the direction of none other than the right wing NR Publisher, his wife and Park Associates. The money is now up there with the cow methane!

a, just how did you propose to collect the methane? Attach hoses to the steers' rumps? Giant tents over the fields?

Sounds like a proposal I commented on a few years ago. The proposal was harvesting algae to replace crude oil. The writer said it would only take a certain amount of shallow pond. I worked it out, and it was a roofed pond more than half the size of Maryland. The author saw no problem until I explained making a single square mile of roofed pond would cost several tens of millions of dollars, and 22,000 square miles would be in the billions. MANY billions. Greens are not very good at arithmetic.

atoddh, regarding harvesting/capturing methane from farm animals, no doubt you could obtain a multi-million dollar government grant to study that. Especially if you worked in the “job creating” angle. And it has WAAAAAY more potential than all of Obumbler’s other green energy scams combined. Buy a cow, hire an unemployed steel worker, give him a box of plastic trash bags to catch the methane, and pay yourself seven figures to count filled bags. Kick a few thousand back to your favorite Demorat pols’ campaign committees, and apply for the follow-on study on sheep. That’s how the green energy scam works.

Puberty, thanks for proving what silly idiots you alarmists are.

You have ABSOLUTELY no facts whatsoever, but "YOU KNOW".

AGW is a RELIGION for people like Puberty. THEY BELIEVE , therefore IT IS.

For the rest of us, we look at the facts and make a rational decision. And daFACTS just do NOT SUPPORT your nonsense.

Fortunately, Budman has already given you the facts the scientists.

But of course you are NOT convinced because YOU BELIEVE. Like any OTHER religion, you accept it on FAITH ALONE.

Lots of luck with that.

And Antartica is GROWING as well:

Arctic Ice Cap Growing at Tremendous Rate

Six years ago, the BBC reported that the Arctic, due to global warming, would be ice-free by this summer. That, clearly, has not happened. What has happened, instead, is that the Arctic ice cap has grown at a tremendous rate, by almost a million square miles. In other words, it has grown by a whopping 60%, due to constantly repeating periodic ocean cycles. What explains the rapid growth of the Arctic ice cap? The Arctic summer has been a chillier than usual one, which has helped the ice cap rebound from its record low just a year ago in 2012. This is the time of the year when the fall refreeze of the ice occurs, but already, an ice sheet that is over half the size of Europe extends between the Canadian Islands to the northern shores of Russia. Pack-ice has blocked the North

No Da Wrong again. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the ice caps in both the north and South Pole are diminishing. Satellite photos have proven that. The reason? Who knows, but I do know it's not because of the next 10 day forecast.

To a warmer, science is viewing a photo of three dead polar bears, taken by an unknown photographer, at an unknown time, at an unknown location, and concluding that’s incontrovertible proof the entire polar bear species is dying because the entire arctic is melting, and that’s all coal’s fault, but that global trend can be reversed if you give enough money to Al Gore.

‘You have failed once more to show that the climate is influenced in any way by changes in emissions of trace gases’

Joseph D'Aleo, a fellow member of the AMS said yesterday:

This is welcome news and an admission that views are partially politically driven. I did an informal survey of 25 professional AMS member known to be skeptics. Only 2 received and responded to the survey. The actual number may be even closer to 50-50, far short to the oft claimed 97% by alarmists. We applaud the AMS for reporting results and mentioning the political effect on science. It is a welcome openness, sorely needed in this science..

Dolphin3111 Comment : "Consensus" and politics have NO PLACE in scientific endeavors.
