We do not need audits and the law makers need to check students background. Something is wrong in the thinking in Charleston. Maybe there is something in the water.

So if the student is in the country illegally will the police be required to contact ICE. Also, a background check on all politicans should be done to insure they are within the law.

Triton, college administrators oppose this bill. Plus, even if a student requested that a background check be done, he or she wouldn't be permitted to see the results anyway. Apparently, some student intern in Charleston convinced a legislator to propose this stupid bill.

A certain local Catholic college had convicted felons on its' basketball team. Many of their players could not speak or read at a high school level.

These are lawmakers from areas that have colleges and they are just doing their bidding for them by trying to create a law that gives non police access to people's personal history. I think not. Colleges spent decades lying to parents about crimes being committed ON the campus and it took a Federal law to make them reveal what they had been covering up. State colleges have full powered police depts on campus, why would they need this? Their campus cops can do it now. College administrators want to be a quasi police agency allowed to check into people for their own purposes. If they have questions they need to speak with local/state police and have it investigated. Inventing another level of police state for college administrations to have such access it not necessary, outrageous and dangerous. Also, students can pay to have other people's arrest records? Gotta be kidding. This has no place on a college campus in America. Thats what cops are there for, not colllege administrators.
