Just read in Post Gazette that More than 1,100 Consol Energy retirees will be losing their medical, prescription drug and life insurance benefits by the end of the year - cancelled by Murray Energy. I know that is within his rights as the new owner to do this; however this goes against every belief that I have. There isn't a place in H E L L hot enough for this butthead! This is just plain wrong! PERIOD!

By the way sounder, do you understand the difference between the subject of Murray's EPA lawsuit and the Elk River spill? Nope. To low information loons like you they're just "polution." I used your spelling of that word so you'd recognize it. LOL

Only in West Virginia; a coal company suing the E.P.A. when in certain newspapers around the U.S. the AP news item about a state official in Charleston who claimed that those who showered or were exposed to that toxic water which flowed out of the Elk River were also probably breating in Formaldyhyde released as vapor when the chemicals in that nasty stew began to break down. For over 100 years West Virginia has been the go to place for extracting minerals, clear cutting hardwood forests, other dirty industries, with little thought about what it did to the population which was either too settled into their ways to up and leave or so foolish to believe that those who controlled the mining, smelting, logging, etc. might have actually had their best interests in mind. W.Va. isn't a state but more of a third world country--up for grabs by anyone who bids down and low.

Sorry about your problems, ImRight. Blaming Murray, or any other employer, or "tea bags," won't solve them.

TrollSlayer I bet you sit a home feeling so proud of yourself. If you only knew the stories I could tell you. And no Ill never thank Murray, because I had to live thru*****after my father was life flighted and seconds from death. I really wish you could see the bills we have. But you could give two ***** because you sit behind your monitor collecting your ignorant post and bragging to your tea bags.

ImRight, so Murray paid the salary that fed, clothed, and housed you and your parents and any siblings for 20 years? I'd say you at least owe Murray a word of thanks.

And who paid for that 6+ years of hospitalization, surgeries, and rehab? Maybe you owe them thanks, too. If it was Medicaid, you're welcome.

I hate Murray because my father worked for him for 20+ years. Got hurt in his mine due to Murray's faulty equipment. When he was in hospitals for years having 6+ surgeries and tons of rehab (both muscle and brain) what did Murray do. NOTHING. He told use to find a lawyer and good luck. That sounds like a man that cares about family.

atoddh, when your Bankrupter in Chief gets done killing coal he's coming after oil and gas next. They produce CO2, too. Soon enough you're going to find out how loyal your backstabbing "Progressive" pals really are. Cash in on that gas early. LOL

troll: We are having a wonderful change from coal to gas fro power and transport. Most US citizens favor this .The new found gas reserves are a very good thing for the USA which is now the World's largest producer of natural gas.

Obama was elected. Hilary will probably follow next .She will carry on his general theme.

Troll: It is just the way is and will be: reality.

I am buying frac related stocks today to profit from this reality.(eg SLCA which is booming.)

Black: The reality is: Federal policy is now anti coal pro gas/alternatives for power. The EPA regs are being used to enforce this policy; in the interest of reducing CO2 and other coal-related pollution.

When gas replaced coal for home heating thousands of mining jobs were lost. This will happen again as gas replaces coal for power generation going forward.

WV-and Murray- will have to adjust to the change vs trying to prevent the change.

It's so telling from all the people that hate Bob Murray because he has been so financially successful. Bob lived the American dream. When he was a boy growing up in Bethesda mowing yards and doing work any where he could find it, just to help his family get by. Put himself through college by working. and built his business the same way. Working and having people working for him. Never asking anyone to do, what he wouldn't do himself... sure.. people are hateful now because he is " rich" No one had to work for him, but he pays more than most other employers... and yet so many numbskulls hate him...he just doesn't fit into the obamanation mold

Here we go corn cob Bob playing the family card again.....this is coming from an operator with despicable safety records, inhuman work schedules, forcing people to work in deplorable conditions but it's all about "family". The Chinese you got your money from doesn't care about mine safety or family either... Man lies about as much as Obama....
