Vincent: Now we're getting somewhere, yes, the casinos have dozens of lobbyists that every year try to kill racing.

I said the greyhound industry has one part time lobbyist and has never had more than one. State records are easily accessed.

The tracks have for the past 20 years have employed many lobbyists to influence the legislature and Governor to benefit their interest and those of dog & horse owners. The money spent in this regard easily amounts to hundreds of thousands of dollars! The annual salaries and expenses of the lobbyists likely more than one hundred thousand a year.

Only one lobbyist for the gaming/gambling industry in West Virginia? Sure thing!

Vincent: Do you have proof that hundreds of thousands have been passed out to politicians by the lobbyist? Look up libel in the dictionary. With all due respect. Your comments add to the discussion, but that was wrong and a lie.

"One part-time" lobbyist who has passed out hundreds of thousands of dollars to members of the legislature, particularly low-life double dipping members of the House of Delegates who would take a hot stove! Prior to this Breeders Fund (food stamp) giveaway, the purses, handle and attendance at Wheeling Island was 10 times what it is today!

You are the biggest liar in media. You should be at MSNBC. The greyhound industry has 1 ONE UNO part time lobbyist. Most racing businesses live week to week like the rest of folks. No one is getting rich yet you continue to advertise gross figures, not net, week after week with no studies to show the positive effects of racing, the jobs and residual economic impact it enables. Just your uneducated opinion week after week. Why don't you tell everyone that it's taxpayer money that supports racing instead of bets. Every single penny, from bets. What about the racing people that came from out of state under this "deal, "promise", "legislation?" guaranteed by these same politicians that you say should bankrupt this same industry. What a bait and switch!

You're half right Mike, because West Virginia has already GONE TO THE DOGS, and they were led by lobbyists who literally fed hungry legislators into believing that giving away millions of dollars to greedy out of state dog owners would somehow benefit the struggling citizens of West Virginia. When in fact, it was a fraudulent premise that has cost the state hundreds of millions!

In the name of revenue it's time to legalize any and all vices! Just put an amendment on the ballot and call it "nothing is illegal if we can tax it!"
