JMT, So why clean it up now? It'll melt sooner or later and people can go to WALMART. Cleaning up busineses' spaces on Jefferson, Lafatette, etc is far different than cleaning a space in front of your house. By your theory the businesses should be permitted to keep the money from the PARKING METERS.

Use the private sector and the work will get done.

How about clean up the ice yourself??? That's what I have to do if I want the parking area in front of my house cleaned up.

The only defense of the situation is inexperience with snow and cold weather which have lasted this long. Hopefully they learn from it. Small businesses have so many taxes, regulations, and fees applied to them and to be treated like this is a shame. A plan other than hoping the sun comes out or it rains is needed.
