Words explaining why we have white elephants and bad government

CRONYISM partiality to long-standing friends, especially by appointing them to positions of authority, regardless of their qualifications.

FAVORITISM favoring a person not because he or she is doing the best job but rather because of some membership in a favored group, personal likes and dislikes or club.

NEPOTISM extend to kin of the family when political parties recruit candidates for public office.

B&O tax, sale taxes, 911 fees, and more fees are the only way to maintain a government too big for a small city. The only choice is cut the waste, downsize, cut out the luxuries and auction off the white elephants . How much longer can the taxpayer afford to live in a city?

Did Wheeling have the same accountants that Obamacare used?. Dec is probably the month more people pay sales taxes and Jan with sales but do not think the amount is going up the rest of the year and is it carried one month forward? Could they go back and check to see when B&O taxes went up and down and how much it would produce today in this economy if used or is there a lost the taxpayer is paying?.

it's not a white elephant... that's a stupid-### comment. it holds events that are community centered and entertaining. the problem is time has passed mgt by and current mgt needs to go. the city has charged these people to keep up with the times and trends and they have not. they have failed in both cases and now it will take a ton of money to brings structure up-to-date and time and efforts to repair reputation with promoters and other event organizers looking for a venue like ours!

The Arena should have reserves to pay for improvements. It is said to be doing well. Why would consumers be paying for this?
