"It offers no similar protection to children in recreation centers."

Uh, what protection does it offer now? It's a piece of paper. It does absolutely nothing to deter a criminal from breaking the law.

I'd take my chances in a "gun friendly" rec center 1000 times before I'd take my chances in a "gun free zone"

The National Rifle Association no doubt is in back of this insane proposal. Our legislature is composed of eunuchs who do whatever the*****the NRA tells them to do. Ferns, Fitzsimmons, and the rest of you cowards who voted for this legislation: I have no respect for you whatsoever. Go and slobber before your NRA masters.

MrMonday is right. We must stop the concealed weapons holocaust where BILLIONS of children are slaughtered daily by MILLIONS of deranged concealed weapons licensees.

Ok, how about hundreds of children slaughtered by a dozen semi-crazed concealed weapons licensees?

Ummm... Would you believe two naughty high school dropouts upbraided by an irate old man with a partially-completed concealed weapons license application?...

Editor - “the law in question is deeply flawed”

Mr. Editor your reasoning is deeply flawed. Charleston mayor Danny Jones’ views are deeply flawed. The legislature has got it right. Senate vote was 32 to 0. House vote was 92 to 5 in favor of the law.

I want the recreation areas of my grandchildren to be FILLED and protected with armed, law abiding, vetted, concealed carry permit holders. So called “gun free zones” are target rich environments, kill zones for low life psychotic criminals.

The gutless Tomblin may cave to the gangster like tactics of mayor Jones.

Oh theLibs at work..... Lets not try to confuse them with COMMON SENSE! I have kids and I would much rather have them at a rec center with people CCW who I know would protect them from some loon who doesn't care about GUN FREE ZONES. Has it not been proven over and over that gun free zones DON'T WORK..... Chicage is pretty much a gun free zone. Hows that working out???
