And he gave millions in tax cuts to lower & middle class Americans who did! The nature of those cuts resulted in the upper 10% shouldering a larger share of overall tax revenues than during the Clinton years.

The top 1% were responsible for paying 30% of all Federal income taxes in 1995, that grew to 40% by 2007. The top 10% were responsible for a 48.9% share in 1995 and that grew to a 60.6% share after the Bush rate reductions. (Table 6 Total Income Tax Shares, 1980-2009 (Percent of federal income tax paid by each group)

More from the report, "The Associated Press headline for a new Brookings Institution study says that the ACA will have a “Big Impact on Income Gap.” People in the bottom two tenths of the income distribution would see average gains of 5.3% and 7.2% from the ACA. But take a close look at Brookings’ graph. Families in the next lowest 20% (family income $20,000 to $38,000) would suffer significant income declines to achieve these gains."

Perception is this case is reality, so who's lying here? This country is being "trashed" by the policies of this admin and many previous. My "ilk" want a country where big govt dependency is the exception, not the rule.

And if none of the previous sources are to be believed, try the union Unite Here. From their report "The Irony of ObamaCare: Making Inequality Worse".

"Transferring A Trillion Dollars in Wealth: Most of the ACA’s $965 billion in subsidies will go directly to commercial insurance companies, one of the largest transfers of public wealth to private hands ever. Since the ACA passed, the average stock price of the big for-profit health insurers doubled, their top executives were paid more than a half billion dollars in cash and stock options, and in the past 2 years, the top 10 insurers have spent $25 billion on mergers and acquisitions"

oldspam, if the top 10% PAY 69% of the taxes then they should get 69% of the vote on HOW those taxes should be spent right?

It is only "FAIR", as you liberals say.

Great news for America .gasoline $4 a gallon. a millionaire has enough money to buy 250,000 gas. same quantity as $131,000 bought in 1964. Million isn't much when to take off the rose colored glasses.

The top 10% wage earners paid 69% of all federal income tax last year! But , the other 90 pay for everything including the subsidy the 10%ers get.

Cal,

If you don't believe CNN, CNBC or NBC, maybe you'll believe Liberal Robert Reich (secretary of labor under President Bill Clinton), "In fact, America’s savage inequality is the main reason equal opportunity is fading and poverty is growing. Since the “recovery” began, 95% of the gains have gone to the top 1 percent, and median incomes have dropped. This is a continuation of the trend we’ve seen for decades. As a result:

(1) The sinking middle class no longer has enough purchasing power to keep the economy growing and creating sufficient jobs. The share of working-age Americans still in the labor force is the lowest in more than thirty years.

(2) The shrinking middle isn’t generating enough tax revenue for adequate education, training, safety nets, and family services. And when they’re barely holding on, they can’t afford to — and don’t want to — pay more."

You and your ilk are blind to reality and the facts in front of your face!

NYT contd:

One of the starkest consequences of that divide is seen in the life expectancies of the people there. Residents of Fairfax County are among the longest-lived in the country: Men have an average life expectancy of 82 years and women, 85, about the same as in Sweden. In McDowell, the averages are 64 and 73, about the same as in Iraq.

So there you go, class envy freaks. DC votes about 90% Dem. Yet THEY have the highest % of wealthy thanks to you dumbass WV taxpayers who get JACK in return.

Fairfax County, Va., and McDowell County, W.Va., are separated by 350 miles, about a half-day’s drive. Traveling west from Fairfax County, the gated communities and bland architecture of military contractors give way to exurbs, then to farmland and eventually to McDowell’s coal mines and the forested slopes of the Appalachians.

Perhaps the greatest distance between the two counties is this: Fairfax is a place of the haves, and McDowell of the have-nots. Just outside of Washington, fat government contracts and a growing technology sector buoy the median household income in Fairfax County up to $107,000, one of the highest in the nation. McDowell, with the decline of coal, has little in the way of industry. Unemployment is high. Drug abuse is rampant. Median household income is about one-fifth that of Fairfax.

Croak&Smoke "DaWraith are you against Social Security Disability???"

NO, not for those who truly deserve it. But why has it mushroomed under Obama to the point that SS Dis is bankrupt in 2016???

Me Thinks it is because the unemployment bennies ran out so people fake Disability to survive in the 37% unemployment Obama Economy.

NOW, please answer MY question, Croaker: WHO is more evil, somebody who fakes an SS disability claim or daWraith who is da 10% paying da 70% of taxes???

Wrong as always, oldman. According to a UC Berkley analysis of IRS data, in 2013 the nation’s top 10% earned 48% of the nation’s income. So the nation’s top 10% paid over 20% MORE than their share.

Don't let facts get in the way of your seething envy, though. LOL
