Wheeling City Council members have taken one step in what amounts to re-prioritizing municipal government finances. Though the next step will be far more difficult, they should take it, too....

Both the Police and Fire departments had staff cut 08-09. Someone needs to go back and do some FACT CHECKING, it would be a real EYEOPENER!!!!!

Last time the LEGISLATIVE MAYOR did his right sizing was in 2008-09 and NO employees from the Police or Fire Department were involved. Wheeling continues to be TOP heavy in those two departments compared to other cities with more population. Maybe snowplows on cruisers, or firetrucks would be the answer but they would not fit in 7-elevens or convenients.
